Especially in early May, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and monks, nuns and Buddhists actively participated in donating tens of billions of VND to build solidarity houses for poor people in Dien Bien province and the Northwest region.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha emphasized that the annual Buddha's birthday is an occasion of great significance for Buddhists and those who love Buddhism. The Buddha's birthday has become one of the holidays with strong cultural vitality in the spiritual life of the people, bringing a message of love, solidarity, harmony and development.
The delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented flower baskets and gifts to congratulate the Office II of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - Quang Duc Zen Monastery and Most Venerable Thich Thien Phap.
The Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also hopes that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, together with monks, nuns and Buddhists, will continue to promote the tradition of "protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people", be an active and responsible member organization of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, respond to and effectively participate in campaigns to build culture and the system of values of the Vietnamese people.
In response, Most Venerable Thich Hue Tri, on behalf of the Standing Vice President of the Executive Council, thanked Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and members of the working delegation for taking the time to visit and congratulate the Buddha's birthday, Buddhist calendar 2567.
Most Venerable Thich Hue Tri informed about the activities of Buddha's birthday week, emphasizing that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha held a ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc's self-immolation.
Venerable Thich Hue Tri wished Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and the members of the working delegation good health and success in fulfilling the responsibilities assigned by the Party and State.
On the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha also visited and congratulated the Pure Land Buddhist Lay Association (Hung Minh Tu Temple, District 6) on the occasion of Buddha's birthday.
