Ekrem Karagüdekoğlu (Turkey) used to own the world's largest collection of phones with 2,779 devices. However, this record has just been broken by Andrei Bilbie Argentis (Romania). According to the Guinness Book of Records, as of November 2023, Andrei has 3,456 phones in his collection, not counting duplicates. This means the actual number is much larger, "there are up to several thousand duplicate models but they are not counted in the number counted to set the record", Phone Arena said.
Andrei's showroom is air-conditioned for preservation and has separate tables and chairs for viewing.
With such a large number of phones, many people might think that Andrei started buying and storing phones before Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone (in 2007), even before the Motorola Razr V3 became popular worldwide (2004). But in fact, Bilbie Argentis only started collecting in 2018, less than 6 years ago.
In the photo released by the Guinness World Records organization, the room where Andrei kept his phone had two large display cabinets placed against opposite walls, filled with phones from manufacturers around the world.
Zooming in, you can see several different color versions of the same Motorola Razr V3 model. Some of the recently released Pixels appear to be in the display case on the left. Also in the same case, but in a different row, are a few iPhones (mostly iPhone 6 and older).
Until now, there is still not much information about the owner of the record for owning the most phones in the world as well as the specific quantity or model in his collection. The book "Guinness World Records" was published in 1995, published annually, is a publication that collects records recognized worldwide, including both human and natural.
