Immerse yourself in a relaxing village atmosphere in a tranquil bamboo sanctuary in the heart of the city, return to the era of soft neon lights in Singapore or get a close-up look at a glowing crab inspired by local crustacean folklore, these are three of the light works in the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2025 with the message of slowing down, re-energizing and creating new values.
According to a VNA reporter in Singapore, with more than 80 experiences, SNF took place from August 22 to September 6 but continued to be an event that left many impressions.
The 16th edition with the theme Island Night is an attempt to change the long-held perception of Singapore as a place known for its hustle and bustle.
Island Night invites the public to slow down, reminisce about Singapore's rich maritime and island heritage and be ready for new values.
One of the highlights of “slow living” is the work Kampong Chill - described as a place of “waste of time,” “frivolous.”

The interactive bamboo sanctuary at Capitol Singapore's outdoor plaza offers visitors a different time-lapse experience, in a village setting, watching the lights come to life, a message of tranquility and light.
Outside Plaza Singapura, the Cyberswordfish V2.0 artwork, made from digital waste from an e-waste recycling company in Tuas, carries a profound message about environmental protection.
The light show on the facade of the National Museum of Singapore and many other light experiences combined with other art and culinary programs create a colorful and meaningful night festival.

This is the first time the festival is held under the management of HeritageSG, the new unit of the National Heritage Board of Singapore.
The organisers hope that as one of the oldest night festivals in the region, SNF can foster closer collaboration with people in the region, including bringing Singaporean artists overseas to participate in international festivals.
Previously, the first Southeast Asia Light Network Conference named Alight was held in Singapore at the end of August 2025, with the goal of making Singapore a center and "leading idea" for light art in the region./.
