The 2023 Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival aims to introduce and promote the image of the homeland, land and people of Cao Bang in general, especially the national scenic spot of Ban Gioc Waterfall to domestic and international friends.
This is also a cultural and tourism festival; a bridge for meeting, exchanging and sharing experiences between regions, enriching and deepening the traditional cultural values of Cao Bang province in general and Trung Khanh district in particular.
The Festival is expected to have the participation of representatives of leaders of several ministries, branches, central agencies; representatives of leaders of Cao Bang province and its affiliated units and localities; districts that are sister to Trung Khanh district, and tourism businesses across the country. Cao Bang province also invited a number of delegates to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; representatives of Daxin district and Jingxi city, China.
Since its inception in 2017, the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival has gradually become a "brand" of Cao Bang tourism, attracting hundreds of thousands of participants. Locals and visitors to the festival often choose to visit Ban Gioc Waterfall, Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, Nguom Ngao Cave, Mountain God Eye, historical and cultural relic sites, community tourism villages, etc.
Since the festival was held, the number of tourists to Ban Gioc Waterfall in particular and Trung Khanh District in general has increased dramatically. In 2019, the number of visitors to Trung Khanh reached nearly 1 million. In 2022, after the Covid-19 epidemic, Trung Khanh in particular and Cao Bang in general have gradually recovered tourism, the number of visitors to Trung Khanh reached over 600,000 people. The Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival in 2022 alone attracted more than 150,000 attendees.
It is expected that after organizing the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province will maintain the scale of organizing this tourism festival as an annual activity of the province. Thereby, it will further promote the development of local tourism, promote the value of the UNESCO global geopark of Cao Bang and contribute to promoting the image of Cao Bang people and land to domestic and international friends.
This year's Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival takes place after the pilot operation ceremony for tourists to travel between Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) and Duc Thien (China) at the Control Station of the area of landmark 834/1, scheduled for September 15. During the pilot operation period, from September 15, 2023 to September 14, 2024, tourists from both countries will register in advance in the form of outgoing and incoming groups, with each group not exceeding 20 people. Regarding management plans, at main entrances and tourist attractions, the Vietnamese side installs guard stations, surveillance cameras, and signs. The stopping time of each group on the other side does not exceed 5 hours, illegal stay is strictly prohibited. Tourists use passports and entry and exit permits to enter the scenic areas on both sides. During the pilot period, entrance fees are waived for visitors from Vietnam entering the Chinese side. The Vietnamese tour organizer must purchase insurance for visitors before entering the Chinese scenic area. Other services must be paid for at actual cost. Visitors from China entering the Vietnamese side must purchase tickets, the ticket price is 70,000 VND/person/time (including insurance, excluding other service fees). |
