The 2024 National Cai Luong Festival closed

(CLO) The Art Council of the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival believes that young authors and directors should penetrate reality more, truly integrate into the contemporary flow to find creative materials for themselves.

On the evening of November 15, at the Can Tho City Cultural Center, the closing ceremony of the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival took place.

This year's festival takes place from October 25 to November 15, with the participation of 29 public and private art units, competing in 33 plays, with the participation of more than 1,000 artists, actors and musicians.

In his closing remarks, playwright Nguyen Sy Chuc, Chairman of the Art Council, highly appreciated the richness and diversity of performance styles of the works participating in the festival. Many plays were of high artistic quality, with clear and profound themes and ideas, expressing the unique and unique beauty of the art of Cai Luong drama.

In the creative sector, in addition to the established names, many young authors have shown their abilities through screenwriting or reforming opera with techniques that bear a strong personal creative imprint. Young directors have emerged who have proven their talent with the responsibility of leading the creative team.

With the core force being actors, the most obvious is the love for the profession and the desire to show talent. The festival is not only a big festival for professionals but also a place to accumulate and pass on the most creative skills of the art of reformed opera.

In particular, the continuity of generations is a highlight of the Festival when many People's Artists and Meritorious Artists have become the pillars that create confidence for young artists entering the competition.

However, there are still authors who use the script inappropriately, do not filter the lyrics, which does not create excitement for the audience and makes it difficult for the actors to perform. There are still some plays that are "showy" when determining the problem, the dramatic conflict is unreasonable; cannot create sparkling images for the characters, making the story vague and monotonous...

On behalf of the Arts Council, Mr. Nguyen Sy Chuc said that young authors and directors should penetrate reality more, truly integrate into the contemporary flow to find creative materials for themselves.

In addition, the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival has an increase in the number of works and units participating in the festival, which is a positive sign. However, besides units that seriously invest in works, there are still some units that do not invest satisfactorily, some units even choose award-winning scripts from decades ago to remake; or units that only focus on roles that can win medals and do not pay attention to the artistic elements of the play.

At the end of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 Gold Medals to the plays: "Xuan Huong Nu Si" (Hanoi Cai Luong Theatre); "Nguoi Con Cua Tram Forest" ( Long An Cai Luong Art Troupe); "San Ho Do" (Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre), "Chat Ngoc Cam Thi Giang" (Tay Do Theatre - Can Tho) and 8 Silver Medals to other plays.

In the individual awards, 41 Gold Medals and 63 Silver Medals were awarded to outstanding artists and actors.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 5 awards to the youngest male and female actors; awards to creative teams; many additional awards to recognize outstanding directors, outstanding adaptors, outstanding singers, outstanding orchestras, outstanding musicians, outstanding artists, outstanding costume designers, outstanding images, etc.
