"Giant" mascots shine brightly to welcome the Year of the Snake

(NLDO) - With the theme "Brocaded mountains and rivers, happy spring", Nguyen Hue Flower Street on the occasion of the Year of the Snake brilliantly welcomes the new era, satisfying the eyes with 90 colorful Snake mascots.

Saigon Tourist Group has just announced the organization of Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the Year of the Snake 2025.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet At Ty 2025 with the theme "Brocade and flower mountains and rivers, happy spring in peace" opens to serve the spring travel and sightseeing needs of city residents and tourists from 7:00 p.m. on January 27 (28th of Tet) to 9:00 p.m. on February 2, 2025 (5th of Tet).

The Organizing Committee said that this year's Tet Flower Street uses a large amount of flower beds, estimated to total up to 109,000 flower baskets of all kinds. Construction time takes place from 7am on January 9 to 12pm on January 27, 2025.

"Unity - Transformation - Development"

Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet At Ty 2025 is divided into 3 segments "Solidarity", "Transformation" and "Development", showing the historical stages of the Vietnamese people overcoming all hardships, sacrifices, and losses, still singing the song of solidarity to gain independence - unify the country - transform and develop sustainably.

After 50 years, today the whole country is confidently entering a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

2025 is the year of many important events for the country: 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

In order to convey the message of celebrating the New Year, opening the important events of 2025, the statue area of President Ho Chi Minh is designed solemnly, meaningfully, majestically and warmly.

The grand opening scene of Nguyen Hue Flower Street this year creates a "Dance of Unification" like a resounding triumphant song, majestic and heroic, firmly stepping into a new era for the homeland of Vietnam, "a land of brocade and flowers, a joyful and peaceful spring".

Among the 12 zodiac animals, the snake is a cold-blooded reptile and a "multi-personality" species that exists intertwined. When mentioning snakes, we often feel a bit insecure. But on the other hand, snakes have flexible and adaptable characteristics. The medical profession uses the symbol of a snake wrapped around a stick and behind this symbol is a special legend.

Overcoming these challenges, the design team has carefully and creatively transformed the mascot of the year of the Snake into a gentle, graceful work of art that is highly anticipated before the Lunar New Year.

The Kim Ty - Ngan Ty pair at the welcome gate is an impressive return in appearance, size and craftsmanship compared to the Quy Ty 2013 pair. Ngan Ty is the female, 25 m long and Kim Ty is the male, 42 m long; the whole body curves in 3 intertwined circles, forming a base more than 11 m wide, with a height from the body adjacent to the flower base to the top of the head of over 6 m.

70% of the materials used to make Kim Ty and Ngan Ty are environmentally friendly. The snake's head and belly are covered with painted pressed bamboo panels, and the entire upper back is covered with reflective mica scales, creating the shimmer of "kim" and "ngan".

On the body of Ngan Ty there are about 2,700 scales, Kim Ty has nearly 3,600 scales, completely hand-attached with LED lights running along both sides of the belly. The eyes of At Ty 2025 are a highlight compared to Quy Ty 2013, with a diameter of 10 cm, painted in color, giving the mascot a soul.

Unlike Kim Ty and Ngan Ty who shine brightly even under the sunlight or at night, Ty has the hidden charm of a Southern girl in her typical costume, with "accessories" such as a checkered scarf and conical hat.

Modeled after the shape of a king cobra with its head held high, its entire body covered in green, the color of life and growth, Lady Ty reaches an impressive size of more than 50 m long and more than 10 m high. Despite its "huge" size, Lady Ty is crafted mostly from materials with light and medium weight.

Highlights of the landscape

The large-scale landscape design occupies almost the entire width of the Flower Street.

"Spring Drops from the Earth" is a large scene that gives a rather abstract look, with a shape that is both like a honeycomb and a cave. To create the earth-like texture of the large scene inspired by stalactite caves, thousands of loosely woven bamboo and rattan panels were used as the ceiling and columns of the cave, up to 8 m high, spread over an area of nearly 1000 m2.

Charming mid-ground and miniature landscape

This year's Flower Street has about 90 snake mascots with a variety of colors and shapes, mostly concentrated behind the Flower Street entrance gate (Kim Ty - Ngan Ty snake island). This is also the area with the cute little "Ty" with movable heads like in the miniature scenes "Ty going to the festival", "Ty companion"...

Changing the traditional way of expression, the rice fields are expressed differently from previous years, with terraced fields and corn-covered roofs, bright yellow roofs with the roof covered with dried corn cobs, interspersed with pillars decorated with brocade motifs creating colorful accents and emphasizing the love of the Vietnamese homeland.

The miniature scene celebrating the country's major holidays in 2025 on Nguyen Hue Flower Street "Celebrating the 50th New Year - Celebrating the Unification Spring" is brilliant with the colors of flowers and the green of the homeland gently embellished. The image of the metro train marks the first year the metro has been put into operation, also marking another step forward for Ho Chi Minh City in the process of entering a new era.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet At Ty 2025 continues to receive enthusiastic participation from the Consulates General of the United States, the Netherlands, Laos, Italy, Indonesia, Korea, Russia, China, Thailand and the UK, along with Rex Saigon Hotel - representing Saigontourist Group - participating in displaying the traditional beauty of the Vietnamese New Year.

Since its first implementation in 2004, Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet 2025 has turned 22 years old.

Considered a cultural symbol of Tet in Ho Chi Minh City, this unique project is organized and implemented by Saigon Tourist Group in coordination with departments, agencies and businesses, under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
