SIU Prize Computer Science Winner Revealed

(NLDO)- The first SIU Prize Computer Science award ceremony named scientists in the field of Computer Science.

On the evening of January 11, the SIU Prize Computer Science Award Ceremony was held with first prize going to Dr. Tran Hoang Dung with his thesis "Testing a self-learning virtual-physical system".

According to the SIU PRIZE Jury, this research has built a solid mathematical foundation along with new algorithms to test the safety of neural networks and autonomous systems. The practical applications of this work are extremely wide, ensuring the safety and sustainability of advanced technologies such as self-driving cars, drones and deep neural networks, becoming an important foundation in the field of modern computing.

At the award ceremony SIU Prize, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan won second prize with his thesis "High-precision bioelectric neural interface towards human-machine symbiosis". Dr. Trinh Hoang Trieu with his thesis "Solving geometry Olympiad without using data from humans" and Dr. Pham Huu Dang Nhat with his thesis: "Developing a method to measure biological signals from the human body using a smart head-worn system" won third prize.

Dr. Tran Hoang Dung received the First Prize of SIU PRIZE with the thesis "Testing self-learning virtual reality system".

The SIU Prize is managed by Saigon International University (SIU) and sponsored by the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE).

SIU Prize awards cash prizes, including first prize of 2 billion VND; second prize of 1 billion VND; third prize of 400 million VND and 2 consolation prizes, each of 200 million VND.

In its inaugural 2023-2024 season, the SIU Prize Computer Science attracted more than 100 nominations from 19 countries and territories.

Outstanding projects in a variety of fields: Artificial intelligence, big data, network and information security, telecommunications engineering, IoT, bioinformatics...

The nominations went through three rounds of rigorous evaluation from the Preliminary Council, the Professional Committee, and the Professional Council, which are professors, scientists, and leading experts in related fields from prestigious universities, research institutes, and businesses in the US, Canada, Australia, France, and Vietnam.

The first SIU Prize Computer Science award includes the Dong A Spirit Award - a special category honoring scientists who have graduated with a doctorate from Vietnamese higher education institutions and are among the top 10 of the award - to promote the spirit of self-reliance among domestic students.

It is known that the SIU Prize Organizing Committee will also announce the launch of the next season - SIU Prize Health Sciences, with nominations starting from March 2025.
