At the end of February, journalist MarGurman said: the inventory of MacBook Air M3 and M2 at Apple stores is gradually decreasing, it seems that Apple is planning to launch MacBook Air M4 in March. Gurman commented that MacBook Air M4 is a rare step in the strategy of upgrading the entire Mac line to M4 chip.
It supports up to two external displays in addition to the built-in display and starts at 16GB of unified memory, all packed into an impressively thin and light design that's built to last.
The new device's performance is boosted by the new M4 chip. This processor features a powerful 10-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and support for up to 32GB of unified memory, making the new MacBook Air up to 2x faster than the M1 model. Compared to the fastest Intel-powered MacBook Air, the M4 model delivers up to 23x faster performance.
According to Apple, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet performance is 4.7 times faster than the fastest Intel-powered MacBook Air and 1.6 times faster than the 13-inch MacBook Air with M1. Video editing and photo editing in Adobe are 8 times faster, 3.6 times faster than the fastest Intel-powered MacBook Air and 2 times faster than the MacBook Air M1.
Additionally, it can browse the web 60% faster than a PC laptop with a more demanding Intel Core Ultra 7 processor for up to 2x faster performance.
The MacBook Air M4 can easily power a multi-display setup making viewing and interacting with content easy, suitable for a variety of audiences.
The new MacBook Air comes in a brand-new color, Sky Blue, a light blue metallic shade, alongside Midnight Blue, Starlight, and Silver options.
