Reputable transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Man Utd are close to signing 18-year-old midfielder Leny Yoro from Lille. The player agreed to sign a five-year contract (until 2029) with Man Utd, with an option to extend for a year.

According to the Daily Mail, Leny Yoro has flown to Manchester for a medical and finalised some terms before signing a contract with Man Utd.
To complete this deal, Man Utd lost 52 million pounds, of which they paid 42 million pounds directly to Lille. The remaining 10 million pounds will be paid based on the performance and contribution of the midfielder born in 2005.
Thanks to the big spending, Man Utd won Real Madrid in this deal. The Spanish Royal Club approached Leny Yoro since April but has not sent any official offer to the French club. It seems that Real Madrid has quietly withdrawn from this deal before Man Utd's move.
Leny Yoro is Man Utd's second major signing of the summer of 2024 after striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. The Dutch star arrived at Old Trafford for £36.5 million.
This summer, Man Utd prioritized adding two positions: center back and striker. The Red Devils' leadership quickly completed these two positions. That made coach Ten Hag feel very happy because he had more time to work with the new recruits.

Man Utd still intend to add one of the two central defenders, De Ligt from Bayern Munich and Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton. In the De Ligt deal, the Red Devils can own the Dutch central defender for 42 million pounds. Meanwhile, they offered 50 million pounds for Jarrad Branthwaite but was still rejected.
However, before thinking about adding people, Man Utd need to liquidate players to have more transfer money. Up to now, Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala have left Old Trafford. Victor Lindelof and Mason Greenwood are on their way out. Man Utd is expected to completely reform the team.
