On March 26, speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Vice Principal in charge of Hue University of Education, said that the unit had submitted a petition to the Department of Internal Political Security of Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police (PA03). In the petition, the school requested the police to verify and clarify the case of bad guys impersonating officers of this unit to defraud candidates into paying application fees for the 2024 aptitude test.
According to the enrollment plan of Hue University of Education, the first registration period for the aptitude test is from April 1 to 25; the second period is expected to be from June 1 to 20.
"Last week, while on a business trip, I received information from the Head of the Training Department informing me about the above incident. After that, I asked the units to immediately report to the PA03 Department. At the same time, the school's website posted an article advising candidates to read official information to avoid being scammed. Currently, there are some cases of scammers calling the school to report the incident," said Mr. Nhan.
According to Mr. Nhan, the bad guys called the candidates to inform them that the registration and aptitude test for admission to the preschool education and music education majors in 2024 had expired. Therefore, if candidates wanted to take the test, they had to register directly with the scammers, each case paying 500,000 VND.
Mr. Nhan said that candidates did not read the official admission plan clearly, so when they answered the phone calls of bad guys, they were "trapped".
According to the enrollment plan of Hue University of Education, the first registration period for the aptitude test is from April 1 to 25; the second period is expected to be from June 1 to 20. The first period is from May 17 to 19, and the second period is expected to be from July 12 to 14. Up to now, Hue University of Education has not received any applications from any candidates.
