In the first leg, the Netherlands played well against France and only lost thanks to two goals from Kylian Mbappe. In the rematch, the same scenario happened. Mbappe's double made the biggest difference between France and the Netherlands at the Johan Cruyff Stadium (Amsterdam).
It took France seven minutes to open the scoring. After a few well-coordinated moves on the right wing, Jonathan Clauss crossed the ball precisely for Mbappe to finish close range into the home team's net.

France had more possession in the first half, but not by much. The Netherlands kept their composure after conceding the goal and created a few notable chances. However, the home team's shots on target were all from long range.
In the second half, the French team scored early thanks to a spectacular moment from Mbappe. The captain wearing the number 10 shirt took a beautiful long-range shot, giving the Dutch goalkeeper no chance to block. The French team played cautiously after taking a 2-goal lead.

Hope of a point was lit up for the Netherlands in the 82nd minute when the French defender and goalkeeper Quilindschy Hartman took a shot from a narrow angle.
