The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on December 12, the North was affected by a cold air mass moving eastward combined with wind convergence above 1,500m.

Therefore, many places in the Northern mountainous region will experience showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with amounts of 20-40mm, in some places over 60mm. From the night of December 12, the rain will gradually decrease.

In Hanoi , there may be light fog and light rain but it will not last long. The weather will still be sunny in the afternoon and evening. Due to the weak cold air and the eastward shift, the temperature in the Northern Delta will remain high, fluctuating between 20-28 degrees Celsius.

In its weather forecast for the whole country from now until January 10, 2024, the meteorological agency said that storms or tropical depressions are still likely to appear in the southern East Sea.

Next month, cold air will continue to increase in frequency and intensity. Especially in the second half of December, the North and North Central regions are likely to suffer a severe cold spell.

In the first half of January 2024, the region may still experience severe cold, but it will not last long. Meanwhile, moderate and heavy rains will continue to occur in the Central Central and South Central regions.

- Hanoi: Cloudy, light rain in some places, scattered light fog. Sunny in the afternoon. Lowest temperature 20-23 degrees Celsius, highest 26-28 degrees Celsius.

- Northwest: Cloudy, sunny during the day. Cold at night and morning. Lowest temperature 20-23 degrees Celsius, especially in the Northwest 17-20 degrees Celsius; highest 26-29 degrees Celsius, especially in the Northwest 29-32 degrees Celsius.

- Northeast: Light rain and fog, afternoon and evening clouds decrease and sunshine. Lowest temperature 20-23 degrees Celsius, highest 25-28 degrees Celsius.

- From Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue: Rain in some places, scattered light fog in the early morning, less cloudy in the afternoon, sunny. Lowest temperature 21-24 degrees Celsius; highest 27-30 degrees Celsius.

- From Da Nang to Binh Thuan : Sunny day, showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Northeast wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius; highest 28-31 degrees Celsius.

- Central Highlands: Sunny during the day, showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and at night. Northeast to east wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 17-20 degrees Celsius; highest 28-31 degrees Celsius.

- Southern region: Sunny during the day, showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and at night. Northeast to east wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius; highest 31-34 degrees Celsius.
