*Pig price in the North:
On the morning of November 6, live hog prices in the Northern region remained stable at around 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg after recording an increase in prices in many localities in the previous session.
Currently, Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Hung Yen and Thai Binh have the highest live pig prices in the region, reaching 64,000 VND/kg.
*Prices slightly higher in the Central Highlands region
In the Central Highlands region, only Quang Binh province adjusted the price up by 2,000 VND/kg, reaching 62,000 VND/kg, the same price as Thanh Hoa and Nghe An. This is also the highest selling price in the region.
Pig prices in the remaining localities in the region are fluctuating between 58,000 and 61,000 VND/kg. Of which, 4 provinces recorded prices below 60,000 VND/kg: Quang Nam , Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak.
*Pig price in the Southern region
The southern live hog market fluctuated in different directions this morning. Currently, this area is trading in the range of 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, live pigs in Ben Tre continued to increase slightly, reaching 61,000 VND/kg. On the contrary, in Soc Trang, Hau Giang and Tra Vinh, live pig prices all turned down, reaching the same level of 60,000 VND/kg.
* Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) live cattle futures rose and beef hit a two-month high on October 4, 2024, in technical trading, with September jobs data rising more than expected boosting consumer demand. Hog futures hit a four-month high before falling in late October, Reuters reported.
The December 2024 pork futures contract on the CME exchange fell 0.250 cent to end at 76.150 cents/lb after hitting its highest price since May 2024. The near-term October 2024 pork futures contract ended down 0.150 cent to 84.025 cents/lb.
