"Opening the way" to send workers to work abroad

In order to contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of sending workers to work abroad under contracts, functional units and branches in Can Tho City have diversified forms of communication, accompanying and supporting workers. At the same time, the city has called on companies sending workers to work abroad to actively participate in consulting, orienting, and helping workers choose suitable markets and jobs.

Viet International Human Resources Joint Stock Company (Vilaco) has just announced the recruitment of 16 male and female high school graduates or higher, registering to study vocational training in Germany. In addition, the company recruits students for study and work programs in Germany, Japan, and Korea with occupations and benefits according to each market. The company has signed a cooperation agreement on recruiting students to work in Germany with Can Tho University of Technology and Can Tho Vocational College. In addition to increasing the provision of recruitment and enrollment information, the company also coordinates to organize counseling, career guidance, and enrollment activities at schools to directly meet and exchange with students.

Can Tho City Employment Service Center invites companies sending foreign workers to participate in job transaction events for consultation, orientation and labor recruitment.

Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Lam, a consultant at Viet International Human Resources Joint Stock Company, said: "The company focuses on consulting to equip students with the necessary qualifications to meet the requirements of the labor market, especially the ability to learn foreign languages ​​and participation costs."

Hasu Asia Co., Ltd. ( Ho Chi Minh City) regularly participates in job exchange events in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta provinces to advise and guide workers in choosing suitable markets, jobs, and incomes. Mr. Truong Nhat Tai, Deputy Director of the Company, shared: "Can Tho City's labor force is abundant, potential, diverse in qualifications and occupations, meeting the requirements of the Japanese labor market. To work long-term and have a stable income, workers need to correctly assess their own abilities, choose jobs that match their qualifications and abilities, be hardworking and not picky about jobs."

International Financial Investment and Media Joint Stock Company (MIF) has just posted a recruitment notice for 6 men and 12 women in the seafood and canned food processing industry to work in Japan, with a salary of 35 million VND/month. The company regularly recruits workers in many industries to work in Japan with simple procedures, low costs, and full benefits. At the same time, the company supports loan policies and Japanese language training to create favorable conditions for workers.

Currently, Can Tho City Employment Service Center cooperates with about 20 companies sending workers to work abroad, regularly recruiting workers to work in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Germany; participating in overseas job exchange events, conferences, seminars on sending workers to work abroad...

Strengthen communication and orientation

According to the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City, from the beginning of 2025 until now, the whole city has consulted, oriented and sent nearly 1,400 workers to work in countries such as Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. The city has had many solutions to accompany and support workers working abroad, notably implementing Resolution No. 11/2023/NQ-HDND of the City People's Council on regulations on policies to support vocational education, employment and labor restructuring from agriculture to non-agriculture. The City Employment Service Center creates conditions to attract companies to cooperate in sending city workers to work in other countries, ready to accompany and support workers from the time of registration to departure; in which, focusing on consulting and orienting to choose suitable orders and jobs. Along with promoting the effectiveness of the weekly Saturday job cafe model, with a lot of domestic and foreign job information, urgent job application interviews, the City Employment Service Center, the Center for Information Technology Application, digital transformation in communication bring foreign workers to the Center's channels and social networks for workers to update and learn. In addition, the Center organizes Japanese and Korean language classes, equips knowledge, communication and behavioral skills, and increases the rate of successful interviews.

According to representatives of companies sending workers to work abroad, workers need to determine their motivations for working abroad to progress, integrate, and gain experience in a professional working environment. After consideration, Mr. Phan Hieu Nghia in Thoi Tan A hamlet, Thoi Lai commune, chose to work in Japan for more than 2 years. Currently, Mr. Nghia works as a forklift driver, earning 35 million VND/month. What Mr. Nghia appreciates is being fluent in foreign languages, being bold in communication, confidently approaching new technology, and improving professional skills to apply to work and develop his future career.

As for Ms. Le Thanh Phuong in Dinh Khanh hamlet, Truong Thanh commune, at first, she registered to work in Japan following the "majority" but struggled to choose a career. After receiving counseling support, Ms. Phuong chose the job of food packaging, a 3-year contract, working 8 hours/day, earning 30 million VND/month. Every month, Ms. Phuong sends money back to her family to pay off the loan from the Social Policy Bank. Ms. Phuong takes the opportunity to improve her Japanese to facilitate her work and communication.

In the coming time, the City Department of Home Affairs will direct the City Employment Service Center to strengthen the dissemination of the city's support policies and guidelines, raise awareness among workers and parents, introduce potential and stable labor markets, and contribute to promoting the work of sending workers to work abroad throughout the city. At the same time, coordinate the organization of job counseling points in wards and communes, attracting workers to participate and boldly register to work abroad.
