At 2:40 p.m., each tael of SJC gold bar was reduced by 3.1 million VND for buying, down to 94.7 million VND, and the selling price was reduced by 2.1 million VND compared to the end of yesterday, down to 97.7 million VND. The difference between buying and selling widened to 3 million VND per tael. Compared to the peak set yesterday morning, each tael of gold bar is now 2.7 - 3.9 million VND lower.

At the same time, each amount of plain rings was reduced by SJC by 3.1 million VND for buying and 2.6 million VND for selling, down to 94.6 - 97.1 million. Meanwhile, at PNJ, the price of plain rings dropped to 96 - 98.5 million. This afternoon, Bao Tin Minh Chau reduced the price of plain rings to 96 - 98.6 million.

The domestic gold price this afternoon reversed and decreased more sharply than the precious metal in the international market. Currently, each ounce of spot gold has decreased by more than 20 USD from the peak, down to 3,030 USD. Converted according to Vietcombank's selling rate, the world gold price is equivalent to 94.1 million VND per tael. Accordingly, the difference between the two markets from 5 million VND yesterday has narrowed to 3.5 million VND per tael.

In the foreign exchange market, the exchange rate at commercial banks increased slightly while the US dollar price at foreign exchange points "heated up". Vietcombank listed the exchange rate today at 25,370 - 25,760 VND, BIDV raised the USD price to 25,385 - 25,745 VND. Meanwhile, the USD price on the black market increased for the fourth consecutive session, to 25,870 - 25,970 VND.
