Moldova expels 45 Russian diplomats and embassy staff

Moldova Foreign Ministry spokesman Igor Zaharov said 45 Russian diplomats and staff will have to leave the country by August 15. Russia has yet to respond to the information.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry statement added that the Russian Ambassador to Moldova was also summoned on July 26 to inform him of the decision.

Accordingly, the Russian diplomatic corps in Moldova will also include 10 diplomatic positions and 15 administrative, technical and service positions.

Since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Moldova has expelled two Russian diplomats. Moldova has a population of 2 million, located between Ukraine and Romania.
