Delicious dishes that symbolize the friendship between Da Nang and Korea

The 2025 Korean Food Festival, which has just ended in Hoi An, has become a highlight attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists to visit and experience. The event is not only a space to enjoy traditional dishes such as kimchi, kimbap, mocktails... but also contributes to deepening the cultural cooperation relationship between Da Nang and Korea now and in the future.

Taking place from September 6 to 7 at Song Hoai Square (Hoi An ward), the Korean Food Festival is organized by the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, Hoi An Ward People's Committee in coordination with SINASEAN Vietnam Co., Ltd. (representing the Ministry of Agriculture , Food and Rural Affairs of Korea) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation.

The event not only introduces the unique values ​​of the rich cuisine of the land of kimchi but also brings an attractive experience and entertainment space for people and tourists with special activities such as Korean guitar and violin performances; food tasting; shopping at booths; experience preparing authentic Korean dishes (kimbap, mocktail); traditional Hoi An art performances...

Ms. Le Thi Phuong, a tourist from Hanoi, shared that although she had eaten Korean food in many places, this time the feeling was very different. “Eating right in the heart of the old town, in a culturally rich space, I felt like I was in Seoul. The friendly and enthusiastic Korean chefs were ready to introduce each ingredient and the proper way to eat. This is not only a culinary experience but also a very interesting way to learn about culture,” Ms. Phuong said.

At the festival, many Korean tourists were also delighted to see their country's cuisine being warmly welcomed in Vietnam. Mr. Kim Joon-ho, a tourist from Incheon, said he was very touched to see Vietnamese and foreigners love Korean food. This helped him feel closer and understand that culture is an important bridge connecting peoples around the world.

Da Nang currently has extensive cooperative relationships with Korean localities such as Daegu, Busan, Gwangju... Every year, cultural events, festivals, film festivals, study abroad programs, student exchanges... take place, bringing positive results.

In addition, Korea is also one of the city's important partners in many fields such as tourism, education and investment. In particular, in recent years, Korea has always been the leading tourist market in the total structure of visitors and accommodation in Da Nang.

According to the representative of Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, the Korean Food Festival in Hoi An 2025 is not only a journey to discover Korean culinary flavors, but also opens up a space for cultural exchange, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Korea. This will be an ideal cultural and tourist destination for locals and tourists, and at the same time an opportunity for Korean products to reach closer to Vietnamese consumers.

“Hoi An is a locality belonging to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. In which, cuisine is one of the creative fields that is being effectively promoted with the diverse presence of cuisines around the world, especially Korean cuisine.

This is very interesting, especially when the number of Korean tourists visiting Hoi An and Da Nang is constantly increasing, so the role of cuisine becomes more and more important. Thereby helping to further connect the relationship and solidarity between the two countries and two peoples," said a representative of the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center.

According to Mr. Cho Sungbae, Director of the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An is the most popular tourist destination in Vietnam, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists every year.

Through organizing the festival, the unit hopes to introduce the diversity and quintessence of Korean food products to international tourists as well as local consumers in Hoi An, bringing Korean cuisine closer to people's daily lives.

“From the taste of the food to the bustling festival atmosphere, the event is not only to promote Korean cuisine but also an opportunity for the two cultures to meet, exchange and develop together, thereby further strengthening the relationship, cooperation and understanding between the two countries not only in the field of cuisine but also in many other fields,” said Mr. Cho Sungbae.
