- Where can students register for health insurance?
Some new regulations on health insurance examination and treatment (HI) for health insurance participants in Decree No. 188/2025/ND-CP dated July 1, 2025 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Health Insurance Law.
Specifically as follows: In case of late card presentation: enjoy health insurance benefits from the time of presenting the health insurance card.
In case the card is still valid when going to the medical examination and treatment facility, but while receiving inpatient, outpatient, or daytime treatment at the medical examination and treatment facility, the health insurance card has expired, the health insurance fund will pay the medical examination and treatment costs for no more than 15 days from the date of expiry of the health insurance card; at the same time, when discharged from the hospital and the treatment session ends, the patient is responsible for paying health insurance for the duration of the expired health insurance card.
Expanding the cases eligible for direct payment: Time of not presenting health insurance card at the medical facility; Patients in emergency condition, unconscious or dead without presenting health insurance card information before being discharged from the hospital.
When going to a medical facility that provides health insurance examination and treatment outside of business hours or on holidays: People with health insurance cards who go to a medical facility for treatment will be paid by the health insurance fund within the scope of benefits and health insurance benefit level.
