The white hawthorn flowers bloom, covering the entire Nam Nghiep village, turning the surrounding landscape into a picturesque scene. After the peach and plum blossom season ends, the hawthorn flower season will come throughout Nam Nghiep village in Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, Son La province.
Author Do Truong Vinh will let you experience the simple but extremely brilliant beauty of the cat flower season through the photo series "Apple Blossom Season". The photo series was submitted by the author to the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest , organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .
Located on the trekking route to Ta Chi Nhu peak, Nam Nghiep village in Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, is a tourist destination known in recent years. In addition to its wild beauty, every March, the village is also visited by many tourists to take photos when the hawthorn flowers here bloom, dyeing the mountains and forests white. 
To reach this Teo Meo flower forest, visitors have to drive about 25 km from the center of Muong La to Ngoc Chien commune, then go about 13 km more on dirt road to Nam Nghiep village. The road to the village is a bit difficult to travel.
From afar, you can see a hill of hawthorn flowers blooming like snow, Nam Nghiep village is at an altitude of about 2,500 m above sea level. 
The crab apple trees are planted by the locals around their houses and on the hillsides. The crab apple trees are closely associated with the lives of the Mong people in the highlands. 
Hawthorn flowers do not have the pure white beauty of plum or pear flowers, nor the graceful beauty of cherry blossoms, but are naturally beautiful and simple like the people here.
Flowers bloom to signal the arrival of spring. Around September and October, the crab apples are ripe enough to be harvested. Locals often use the fruit to soak in wine, honey or sugar. 
Here has the coolest climate in Muong La district, is home to more than 100 households of Black Mong ethnic group and hundreds of ancient hawthorn trees. Hawthorn (also known as hawthorn) is mostly grown naturally, without requiring much care.
In recent years, every season when the cat's claw flowers bloom, they attract the attention of tourists, especially young people, and become a highlight of the village./.
