Male student beaten by classmate, hospitalized

On the afternoon of October 12, Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Ha, the older sister of student BVK (class 11.2, Bac Son Secondary and High School, Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh ) was still upset because her younger brother was beaten and had to be hospitalized.

According to Ms. Ha, on October 3rd, during recess, K. was sitting in class when two male students (MTQ, class 11.2, and PTT, class 11.4, studying at the same school) attacked and beat him up. The incident of K. being beaten was filmed and posted on social media.

“After being beaten, K. was taken to the Youth Union office. At that time, my younger brother had a headache, was dizzy, and nauseous. The family had to take K. to the hospital. After working with all parties, the two male students who beat K. admitted that K. did not do anything to cause a fight,” said Ms. Ha.

At Huong Khe Medical Center (Ha Tinh), K. was diagnosed with “other specified injuries affecting multiple areas of the body.” On October 7, K. was discharged from the hospital and returned to school.

But when going to school, K. continued to have headaches, dizziness, and nausea, so her family took her to the commune health station for an IV one afternoon.

Ms. Ha added that during K.'s time at school, he was threatened with being beaten many times, causing him to plan to drop out of school, and his family had to encourage him.

Mr. Tran Xuan Bach, Principal of Bac Son Secondary and High School, confirmed that there was an incident in which two male students beat a student in the classroom. The school immediately took notice and worked with the students and their families, and reported to the police for coordination. Currently, the authorities are working and have not yet had any specific results.

"On the school's side, after receiving the police's conclusion, we will meet and take steps to handle and discipline the offending students," said Mr. Bach.
