Improving knowledge of legal aid for grassroots officials

(Chinhphu.vn) - On August 25, in two communes of Ea Sup and Lien Son Lak (Dak Lak province), the Department of Dissemination, Education of Law and Legal Aid (Ministry of Justice) organized a training conference to improve capacity and knowledge on legal aid for village and hamlet officials, union officials and prestigious people in the community.

This is a meaningful activity to enhance access to legal aid services for people, especially the poor, those with revolutionary contributions, and the disadvantaged in society, thereby contributing to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of those receiving legal aid, effectively implementing mass mobilization work, and promoting democracy at the grassroots level. The training conference was attended by a large number of delegates who are grassroots cadres and prestigious people in the community.

The training conferences were organized with the main objective of equipping grassroots cadres and prestigious people in the community with legal knowledge on legal aid, thereby promoting the role of a "bridge" between the people and the Dak Lak Provincial State Legal Aid Center.

At the training conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhung, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of Ea Sup Commune People's Committee, shared about the importance of legal aid work for people in Ea Sup commune after implementing two-level local government and merging communes and wards.

At the same time, emphasize the role of village and hamlet officials, union officials, and prestigious people in the community in Ea Sup commune in helping people access legal aid services conveniently, especially in the current context.

Mr. Dang Xuan Kien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune, said that after the process of merging communes and wards according to the policy of streamlining the administrative apparatus of the Party and State, organizing intensive training courses like this is extremely necessary to fill the gap in legal knowledge, improve awareness and skills for grassroots officials - those who are close to the people.

Thereby, helping grassroots cadres and prestigious people in the community promptly grasp the difficulties and problems of people in the process of accessing and enforcing the law.
