Legal aid connects law with community cultural life

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid, Ministry of Justice has just coordinated with the Department of Justice of Can Tho City to successfully organize training conferences to improve capacity and knowledge on legal aid for grassroots officials and prestigious people in the community in ethnic minority areas.

The program aims to implement the 2025 Work Plan of the Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid, which has been approved by the leaders of the Ministry of Justice .

The conferences were held in three communes of Truong Xuan, Vinh Thanh and Truong Thanh with the participation of hundreds of delegates who are cadres of mass organizations ( Fatherland Front , Youth Union, Women's Union, Farmers' Association, Veterans' Association, Elderly Association), grassroots cadres and many prestigious people in the community. This is an important force to guide and orient people in the community based on legal understanding and at the same time help people access free legal aid services in a timely manner.

Speaking at the Conference, Chief of Office of the Department of Dissemination, Legal Education and Legal Aid Le Thi Thu Ha said that legal aid is a major policy of the Party and State to ensure human rights, citizen rights and is a part of the overall policy of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, gratitude, ethnic policy and demonstrates a profound humanitarian spirit, contributing to ensuring social justice.

Organizing training conferences in Can Tho not only helps grassroots officials and prestigious people in the community improve their legal knowledge, but also creates conditions for them to promote their role as a bridge to bring the law on legal aid closer to the people, especially ethnic minorities, the poor, people with revolutionary contributions and vulnerable groups in society.

Within the framework of the training conference, the reporters conveyed the core contents of the 2017 Law on Legal Aid, introduced the beneficiaries of legal aid, forms of legal aid, procedures for requesting legal aid, and emphasized the rights and obligations of legal aid recipients.

In particular, the reporters incorporated many practical situations related to land disputes, marriage - family, labor, administration and criminal cases to vividly illustrate, helping grassroots cadres and prestigious people in the community to easily understand, easily remember, and easily apply in practice...

Training conferences are not only a place to impart legal knowledge, but also become a forum for exchange and connection between grassroots officials and prestigious people in the community about legal aid work.
