My A estuary was seriously silted up, causing fishermen's boats to run aground and be sunk by waves.

Previously, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development conducted a survey, made an estimate and submitted it to the Provincial People's Committee for investment policy to promptly implement dredging and clearing the channel to ensure the safe entry and exit of local fishermen's fishing boats.

Accordingly, the survey shows that the channel for ships entering and leaving the My A port for anchoring ships is seriously silted up at the entrance of the channel, with a length from the sea of about 500m. At some points, the measured depth is only 1.2m, while the designed depth of the channel is 4m.

To clear the channel, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has established a dredging project with the following scale: dredging and clearing the channel with a length of 300m; channel bottom width of 60m; dredging channel bottom depth of 4m, with an expected dredging volume of 90,000m3 , implementation period of 2024 - 2025, with a total estimated investment of about 3 billion VND.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the annual silting situation occurs very quickly, seriously affecting the lives of fishermen. Therefore, dredging the channel for ships entering and leaving the My A port to anchor ships is to serve fishing boats conveniently, creating stability for fishermen going to sea and improving the lives of people in the area.

Previously, due to heavy silting of the port channel, during the stormy season, many fishing boats of local fishermen ran aground, waves hit the reefs and sank, causing great property damage.
