Updating the Russia-Ukraine war situation, TASS news agency (Russia) quoted a report from the Russian Ministry of Defense saying that combat units of the "Southern" military group - the Russian Army defeated the Guards Brigade of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, along with the Unmanned Vehicle Brigade and the National Guard Brigade of Ukraine.

"Units of the 'Southern' group of troops have gained advantageous lines and positions, defeating five brigades, including the one guarding the General Staff of Ukraine, in the areas of Eversk, Verkhnekamenskoye, Poltavka, Zelenoe Pole, Dzerzhinsk, Novomarkovo, Kramatorsk, Chasov Yar and Ivanopolye in the Donetsk region," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The RG newspaper (Russia) added that the command post of the Guards Brigade of the Ukrainian General Staff was also destroyed.

The moves come as Russia and Ukraine hold separate talks with the United States to seek a peaceful solution to the conflict.

In the direction of Belgorod, units from the Russian Sever Army inflicted losses on the formations of 1 heavy mechanized brigade, 2 airborne assault brigades and 2 assault regiments of Ukraine near Maryino, Petrushevka and Ugroyedy (Sumy region).

Ukrainian losses in the upper direction for the day were 70 troops, 3 tanks, 2 infantry fighting vehicles, 11 armored fighting vehicles, 3 obstacle vehicles, 7 motor vehicles and 4 field guns.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Army improved the tactical situation. They inflicted losses on the manpower and equipment of one Ukrainian mechanized and one assault brigade near Zeleny Gai, Druzhelyubovka (Kharkov region) and Novoye (self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic).

Ukraine's losses in the above direction were: 250 troops, 3 armored personnel carriers, including 2 US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 1 armored fighting vehicle, 9 motor vehicles, 3 field artillery pieces and 3 ammunition depots.

In the direction of Donetsk, the Yug Army Group gained more favorable lines and positions.

They inflicted losses on formations consisting of 5 mechanized brigades, 1 motorized infantry brigade, 1 guards brigade of the Ukrainian General Staff, 1 Ukrainian UAV brigade and 1 Ukrainian national guard brigade.

Ukrainian losses in the upper direction were: 270 troops, 1 tank, 10 vehicles and 1 field artillery.

Mr. Zelensky: Ukraine receives new batch of F-16 aircraft

The Ukrainian Air Force has received a new batch of F-16 fighter jets, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced, European Pravda reported.

"More F-16s have arrived in Ukraine. The Russians are lying that they shot down something, they didn't shoot down anything. But the good news is that some F-16s have arrived in Ukraine," Zelensky said.

The president did not specify the number of fighter jets received.

Ukraine received the first Dutch fighter jets in October 2024 and the second batch was delivered in early February.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with his Belgian counterpart Theo Francken in mid-February and discussed further deployment of the F-16 program.
