Director of the Southern Center for Education and Training Development, Dr. Le Thang Loi said: Based on the solid foundation that has been achieved, entering the new term 2025-2030, the Dong Nai Education and Training sector will have to make more efforts to meet the new development orientation of the province in the new era. Along with modern and synchronous infrastructure, high-quality human resources will be the lever for the province's sustainable growth.
Efforts to overcome difficulties
In the 2020-2025 term, despite facing considerable pressure due to its large population and large area, Dong Nai's educational network continues to expand in scale. Dong Nai currently has over 1,300 educational institutions from kindergarten to university, with over 1.2 million students. According to the latest statistics, the scale of Dong Nai province's education sector after the reorganization is only behind the two largest educational centers in the country today, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Education and Training Truong Thi Kim Hue, during the past term, the province continued to pay attention to training and professional development of the teaching staff serving the teaching and learning work, meeting the requirements of educational innovation. The province's teaching staff has done a good job of implementing the 2018 General Education Program from 2021 and has now covered the new education program from grade 1 to grade 12.
Along with that, the work of solidifying schools has been invested with large resources. After the merger, Dong Nai province has a rate of solid classrooms at preschool level reaching 90.3%, primary school reaching 87.6%, secondary school reaching 95.6%, high school reaching 99.1%. By July 2025, the rate of public schools meeting national standards at preschool and general education levels will reach 69.78%.
To mobilize investment resources for education and reduce pressure on the state budget, Dong Nai has continued to proactively call for socialized investment in the education sector. After the merger, the province now has a total of 240 non-public schools, including 200 preschools, 8 primary schools, 4 secondary schools and 28 high schools. The network of non-public educational institutions operates stably, making an important contribution to meeting the diverse learning needs of the people.
In particular, in the 2020-2025 term, Dong Nai has officially had an international high school model operating in Tran Bien ward and an additional university branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education in Dong Xoai ward. Along with that, a number of private high schools in Dong Nai have boldly innovated, implementing teaching bilingual English programs, international high school programs of the United States and Australia...
Regarding the development of a school system to train high-quality human resources for the province, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Do Dang Bao Linh said: Currently, Dong Nai province has 4 universities, 2 university branches, 13 colleges, 8 secondary schools. The scale of university education and vocational education in Dong Nai in the Southeast region is second only to Ho Chi Minh City. The province's vocational education has increasingly met the human resource needs of businesses, especially in key industries.
Educational innovation in the new term
The education and training sector has made many efforts to innovate, but the scale and quality still need to be further innovated, especially to overcome the shortage of high-quality human resources in the province's key areas in socio-economic development. This is a very important task when the province orients socio-economic development to increasingly focus on the core, key points, based on internal strength, potential, competitive advantages and ensuring synchronization and harmony between localities and regions in the province, determined to achieve the target of double-digit growth in the coming years.
According to Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Education and Training Truong Thi Kim Hue, in the 2025-2030 term, the education sector will continue to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training, linked to the requirements of socio-economic development and the labor market. Improve the quality of teaching and learning; focus on educating qualities, creativity, patriotism, national pride and self-respect. Link education of knowledge, ethics, aesthetics, life skills with physical education for students.
Promote the application of information technology, digital transformation in education, and create a smart learning environment and lifelong learning. Plan a school network; build schools that meet national and international standards; build smart schools and happy schools. Invest in school facilities, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and border areas.
One of the particularly important steps, identified by the provincial education sector, is to continue improving the quality of teachers and educational managers at all levels. Encourage economic sectors to invest in building and developing high-quality schools at all levels, grades, and educational institutions that meet international standards. Develop preferential policies for specialized schools and ethnic boarding schools in Dong Nai province. Train, foster, and supply a workforce with qualifications, skills, thinking, and scientific working methods, meeting the requirements of the scientific - technological revolution and digital transformation.
Attract and utilize talents in the field of management and education; develop Dong Nai province into a regional center for vocational education and training, focusing resources on building Dong Nai University (Tam Hiep ward) into a modern, high-quality university aiming at regional and international standards. Build and deploy chain training models, linked with startup centers, innovation centers and large domestic and foreign enterprises and corporations.
In the new development phase, the province is determined to continue investing in and building medical and educational facilities to gradually meet international standards. Develop policies to attract and utilize talents, attach importance to training high-quality human resources, focusing on the fields of economics, science - technology, digital transformation, health care, and education. The motto of putting people at the center, as the subject, resource and goal of the development process will continue to be promoted in the 2025-2030 term.

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Principal of Lac Hong University (Tran Bien Ward) said: “In the coming years, the school will closely follow the development orientation of the province, focusing on training key industries such as information technology, logistics, automotive technology, especially semiconductor microchips. Along with expertise, the school will continue to invest in students' foreign language skills to become global students in the new era.”
Dong Nai University is aware of its great responsibility when, for the first time, the Draft Document of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, clearly defined the goal of building Dong Nai University into a key university in training high-quality human resources for the province. Therefore, the University Council and the Board of Directors after the reorganization have determined to make a breakthrough in improving the quality of teaching, increasing the scale of training, and strengthening training facilities in the northern region of the province to shorten the development gap of the province in each region.
