On November 8-9, in Ha Long City, the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities (ET) of Quang Ninh Province - 2024 will be solemnly held with the theme "Ethnic groups unite, innovate, create, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably".
The 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress is an important political event for ethnic minorities in the province. The Congress has the task of summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the Resolution of the 3rd Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress, evaluating the achievements and results achieved in implementing the Party's policies and the State's policies for ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, border areas and islands in the period of 2019-2024. At the same time, it draws lessons, sets out tasks and solutions to continue effectively implementing ethnic policies and patriotic emulation movements in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2025-2030. Thereby, creating motivation for ethnic minorities to continue to strive to build a prosperous and happy life.
The Congress is an opportunity to honor and commend outstanding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in socio-economic development, preserving national cultural values, ensuring national defense and security in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas and building great national unity; a forum for exchange, learning and sharing of experiences among ethnic groups. This is also a broad political and social activity to raise awareness, consolidate the trust and consensus of the people and ethnic minorities in the leadership of the Party and State.
This congress has 356 delegates attending, including 250 official delegates representing ethnic minorities in the province and 106 invited delegates. Besides the main program of the congress, the congress delegation will offer incense at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs of Ha Long City and the Monument of Comrade Vu Van Hieu, the first Secretary of the Quang Ninh Mining Zone Special Zone; visit Ha Long Bay.
After the Congress, the Provincial Ethnic Committee will coordinate with the Quang Ninh Literature and Arts Association to organize a program to announce literary and artistic works on ethnic and mountainous topics called "Flowers of the mountains and forests".
