Every time the dragon boat from Binh Ca 1 village, Tu Quan commune, Yen Son district, parades on the street, it is joyfully welcomed by the people.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, a member of the dragon boat maker in Binh Ca 1 village, shared: "Since the beginning of the month, we had the idea of making mid-autumn lanterns. Then we bought an old car and made the lantern ourselves.
During the day, members go to work in the fields or as construction workers, and at night they come back together to complete the lantern within a month.
Now my lantern model can carry people in the village or tourists to walk around the streets.
Gasoline costs about 1.5 million VND for a street parade. Fireworks and electric fireworks cost about 5 million VND. All the money is donated by villagers and tourists."
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu is installing electric fireworks to perform every time he goes down the street.
Panorama of a lantern procession night in Tuyen Quang
These days, Tuyen Quang streets are crowded with tourists coming to see the giant lantern procession. The lantern models are over 3m high, over 12m long with a sophisticated and brilliant lighting system.
The highlight of this year's festival is the Thanh Tuyen Festival Night Program with the theme "Sparkling colors of Thanh Tuyen Festival Night" held on the evening of September 23 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (national scale) with about 60 lantern models participating in the performance.
According to the locals, the bustling Mid-Autumn lantern processions have been taking place since the beginning of the seventh lunar month. Coming here, visitors will witness the bustling atmosphere.
Many children are excited about the Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns every night in Tuyen Quang city.
While following the children, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tan excitedly said: "Usually, around mid-July, the models may not be completed, but if the weather is nice, around 6-7 pm, we take turns pushing the cart to take the children out to play.
The Mid-Autumn Festival of Tuyen Quang children lasts from the 15th day of the 7th lunar month to the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. This year, we have been going like this since the beginning of the 7th lunar month, every night is as joyful as a festival."
Tuyen Quang streets are crowded with tourists coming to see the giant lantern procession.
Mr. Tan happily shared: "These days, everyone in Tuyen Quang is excited and enthusiastic. Even though they don't know each other, they still wave to each other and exchange loving and close smiles.
After tiring working hours, the weather may be hot, but every day when the street lights come on, all the fatigue and hardship of daily life disappears, leaving only laughter and cheers in the space.
Mid-Autumn Festival, an occasion to return to the birthplace
Sharing the joy of his hometown's festival, Mr. Dang Hong Phong and his wife (Tan Tien commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province) said: "For many years, the festival has become a familiar habit in the lives of Tuyen Quang people.
Everyone is happy, excited and proud every time the Mid-Autumn Festival comes. Even though my son is not yet 1 year old, every day after work, I take him out to the festival so that my son's childhood will have more brilliant memories."
Mr. Dang Hong Phong and his wife (Tan Tien commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province) took their son, who is less than 1 year old, to the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Approaching the car carrying the lamp model of group 1, we caught the image of Mr. Khuong Kim Thanh, deputy head of group 1 of Tan Quang ward, engrossed in the task of steering the boat full of children's smiles.
We observed that the area where he sat was equipped with an electric fan in front of him. When asked by reporters about his feelings in the cockpit, he frowned slightly but his mouth was bright: "Hot, generally very hot, but extremely happy and excited, my child."
For many days now, lantern models have been paraded throughout the streets of Tuyen Quang city.
Wiping a few drops of sweat from his forehead, his voice rang out cheerfully: "I drive every year, but I'm still very worried because the bus is long, has many compartments, and is more difficult to drive than a car.
You have to keep a slow speed like a pedestrian, when cornering you have to ask the team on the ground to clear the road and help with steering because the model is long and obscures visibility.
Quite tired but seeing the children happy makes me excited. This year's model of the ward includes 4 cars, 1 extra car is added in case there are too many children on a day, basically running 4 cars.
These days my hometown is very busy. Many days I don't have time to shower or eat, but every time I see the children filling the bus, I just go. I'm so excited.
The lantern procession attracted the attention of many people and tourists.
Not only is it a festival for local people, tourists from many places have also taken advantage of the opportunity to come to Tuyen Quang these days to admire giant lantern models and feel the unique Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere very early.
Thousands of people flock to Tuyen Quang city every weekend to admire the Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns.
Mr. Tran Trung Hieu, a tourist from Hanoi, said: "After seeing the pictures posted on Facebook, I decided to take my whole family to Tuyen Quang this weekend to visit and enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.
When coming to Binh Thuan street area at night, my family and I were very surprised and delighted by the festive atmosphere here.
I was truly overwhelmed by such a beautiful and sparkling Tuyen Quang. Many giant lantern models created by the people were very beautiful and funny, containing many profound meanings, and were lit up in many colors. The children were talking and laughing happily, freely dancing to the bustling music on the trains.
