Artist Thanh Tai lives in a small rented house in Ho Chi Minh City with his wife, artist Le Chau, and a grandchild. The Cai Luong singer said that when he was young, he participated in many swordplay plays and had a fall accident but did not receive thorough treatment. That affected his health in his old age. He suffered from kidney stones, gallstones, bone and joint diseases... However, the male artist still maintained his hearty voice. Sharing in the conversation, artist Le Chau (72 years old) - artist Thanh Tai's wife said that she also suffers from heart disease, blood pressure, vestibular disorders... and has had to use sleeping pills for the past 14 years. Artist Le Chau added that because of her poor health, she only stays at home as a housewife.

Talking more about their current life, artist Thanh Tai and his wife said that each month, they have to pay about 3 million VND for rent, including electricity and water. They have 2 daughters, and sometimes they still help with food and drinks. "The family's economy is also very difficult, but occasionally receiving invitations to perform makes it a little better. Many times when it's time to pay the rent but there's no money, I have to borrow money and pay it back later," artist Thanh Tai confided.

Sharing more about the situation of artist Thanh Tai - Le Chau, actress Phuong Dung said: "Because they live in the city center, the cost of living is high. The current economy depends on uncle Thanh Tai, so it is a bit difficult. Ms. Le Chau is sick a lot, the doctor said to keep taking medicine because sometimes surgery is not enough. Meanwhile, uncle Thanh Tai's legs are weak, although he can still sing, he only shows a few shows...".
