Public investment study for Tu Lien bridge project

Mr. Phan Truong Thanh, Head of Finance and Planning Department, Hanoi Department of Transport (GTVT) said that Tu Lien Bridge is an important traffic project of the Capital, the bridge is part of the Capital's traffic planning and is also an important traffic project in Program 03 - CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on urban embellishment, urban development and urban economy of Hanoi in the period 2021 - 2025.

Tu Lien Bridge Model

Recently, the Department of Transport has coordinated with the Pacific Group to study the Tu Lien bridge project under the PPP (public-private partnership) method. Through the study, a technical plan was established, in which the total length of the route was determined to be 11.5km; of which the main bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are about 5.5km long, the road leading to the bridge in Dong Anh district is about 6km long; the total investment for the whole project is 22,000 billion VND.

Most recently, in early September, the Hanoi People's Committee announced that it would hand over the Tu Lien Bridge project to the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Transport to study public investment. The Department of Transport and the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board will develop the main bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge. Dong Anh district will be the investor of the section from National Highway 5 to the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway.
