Foreign players Geovane and Janclesio were asked to help with Vietnamese naturalization.

Coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) proposed that competent authorities support the naturalization of foreign players Geovane Magno and Jean Almeida Santos (Janclesio).

On September 29, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent a dispatch to the Ministry of Justice requesting support for Vietnamese citizenship for striker Geovane Magno and center back Jean Almeida Santos (Janclesio) of Ninh Binh Club.

In the dispatch, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong shared: "After monitoring and evaluating the expertise of recent professional football tournaments in Vietnam, the professional board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and football experts found that a number of foreign players competing in tournaments always have a spirit of dedication, devotion to the club and a desire to live and work in Vietnam long-term.

Based on the proposal of VFF and the proposal of Mr. Kim Sang Sik (head coach of the national team), in order to utilize and promote sports talents to contribute to the development of Vietnamese sports in general and Vietnamese football in particular, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism respectfully requests the Ministry of Justice to support the procedures for naturalization of Vietnamese nationality for two players: Geovane and Janclesio.

Both Geovane and Janclesio are eligible to apply for Vietnamese citizenship. They both played in the V-League for the first time in 2019 and have lived in Vietnam for 5 years.

Geovane was born in 1994, and has played for Saigon, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, and The Cong - Viettel clubs. He is 1m88 tall, plays as a striker, attacking midfielder, and is very technical and fast.

Meanwhile, Janclesio was born in 1993, 1m94 tall, plays as a central defender, and has played for The Cong - Viettel, Da Nang, and Becamex TP.HCM clubs.

Previously on September 19, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also sent a dispatch to the Ministry of Justice requesting support for the procedure of obtaining Vietnamese nationality for Da Nang midfielder Gustavo Santos, who has also played in Vietnam for 5 years.

If all three foreign players above become Vietnamese citizens, the Vietnamese team will have a quality addition alongside Nguyen Xuan Son and Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, ready to conquer further goals of Vietnamese football.
