Not only is he an enthusiastic and active Party cell secretary, chairman of the board of directors, and director of the cooperative (HTX) in local movements and activities, Mr. Tran Mau An (born in 1980), in Huynh Cong Dong village, Trung Nam commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province, is also known by many people as one of the leading examples in economic development and striving to get rich in his homeland. Mr. An is always dedicated and actively helps local people with capital, experience in production development and material and spiritual support for many cultural, artistic and sports activities in the area.

In early August 2024, Mr. An and members of Huynh Cong Dong Agricultural Cooperative were excited when the Vinh Linh tapioca starch product produced by the Cooperative met the standards for recognition as a 3-star OCOP product.

Previously, this product was recognized as a typical rural industrial product at the provincial level in 2020 and was present at many trade fairs in the province with a fairly stable consumption. Huynh Cong Dong Agricultural Cooperative currently has 140 members, of which about 25 are typical members, with an income of 120 million VND/year or more. The cooperative has developed many economic models well such as raising chickens, cows, fish, growing cassava, pepper...

The overall achievements of the cooperative have a significant mark of Mr. An in his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the cooperative. Clearly defining his responsibilities, Mr. An has actively mobilized people to participate in the cooperative, supported members in production, applied science and technology in livestock and crop farming to create many valuable, high-quality products. He always focuses on building solidarity and mutual support among members of the cooperative to develop highly effective economic models, enriching himself and his homeland.

To gain people's trust and follow, he always sets an example, especially in developing the family economy.

Mr. An said: “In the past, my family raised cows, chickens, and grew pepper on a small scale. In 2019, realizing that the egg-laying chicken farming model had a lot of potential, I renovated the land and built a barn right in my garden. At the end of 2021, with the money I saved and borrowed more, I invested about 300 million VND to build a farm raising Egyptian super-egg chickens. From the early days of difficulties and hardships due to the change in production methods, this model has now been operating stably, and its egg products are chosen by many consumers in and outside the province.”

Specifically, in 2022, he released the first batch of chickens with a quantity of more than 500. After more than 4 months of raising, this batch of chickens laid an average of 350 eggs/day; after deducting expenses, his family earned about 13 million VND/month. From that result, at the end of 2023, Mr. An continued to invest in the second batch of chickens with a quantity of 1,000 chickens. Currently, the income from his family's super egg chicken farming model reached 18 - 20 million VND/month. In March 2024, joy came to him when the egg-laying chicken product of Tran Mau An Business Household met VietGAHP standards.

“On August 19, 2024, I continued to release a new batch of 600 chickens at the second chicken farm, bringing the total current flock to about 1,600 chickens. In the coming time, I will expand my investment in building 2-3 more chicken farms to create more jobs for local workers, and at the same time provide more guidance to people on techniques and experience to develop this farming model,” Mr. An shared. In addition to the chicken farming model, he also dug a pond to raise grass carp and planted many types of trees such as cassava, bananas, jackfruit, etc. to create a stable source of income for his family.

Not only is he an exemplary cooperative officer and good at economics, Mr. An also plays a good role as Secretary of Huynh Cong Dong village Party Cell, always active and creative in his work. When his family's economy is stable, he enthusiastically supports materially and laboriously for charity, cultural, artistic and sports activities in the locality.

In particular, Mr. An and his wife have supported many households in difficult circumstances with interest-free capital in the village, encouraging and helping them in production to escape poverty. Thanks to their kind deeds, Mr. An's family has always been trusted and loved by the local people.
