People working in digital transformation and cybersecurity are supported with 5 million VND/month

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed and issued Decree No. 179/2025 stipulating the support level for people working full-time on digital transformation, network information security, and network security in agencies and organizations of the Party, State, Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations from central to commune levels and armed forces.

According to the decree, those working in digital transformation, network information security, and network security will receive support of 5 million VND/month. This support is paid with the monthly salary, not used to calculate social insurance and health insurance contributions and benefits, and only applies until salary reform is implemented according to the policy of competent authorities.

Subjects of application include cadres, civil servants, and public employees in charge of digital transformation or information technology, information security, network security, and electronic transactions; officers, professional soldiers, defense workers, officers, and technical non-commissioned officers of the People's Public Security; and people working in cryptographic organizations receiving salaries from the state budget.

The Decree also clearly stipulates cases that are not eligible for support, such as unpaid leave of 1 month or more, time of temporary detention, temporary suspension from work, or failure to hold a prescribed professional position continuously for 1 month or more.

Funding for implementation is allocated from the state budget and other legal sources depending on each type of unit. In particular, relevant ministries and branches such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance and the agency managing cadres and civil servants are responsible for guiding, identifying the subjects and organizing the implementation of support in accordance with regulations.

The Decree takes effect from August 15, 2025.
