- Reporter: Congratulations on winning First Prize in the print category of the 1st Nguyen An Ninh Journalism Award. What was your first feeling when you heard the news that you were honored?
NB Thanh Nga: Even though I have been in the profession for more than 15 years, when I found out I won the award, I still had the same feelings as the first day I started writing articles. It was really touching! Especially this time, the award came on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, so the feeling was even more special and meaningful.
- Reporter: What made you choose the topic of streamlining the apparatus - a topic that is considered quite dry and complicated?
NB Thanh Nga: I feel lucky to live and work in Long An - a land of "brave and resilient", where every journalist is supported and given the opportunity to develop their abilities. During my work, I always remind myself to strive every day to write articles that reflect the "breath" of current events, contributing to conveying the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws to the people. Streamlining the apparatus is a big, topical topic. I chose it because I want to contribute my voice to reflect both the opportunities and thoughts of cadres, civil servants, and public employees in the process of restructuring the apparatus of the political system . That is how I demonstrate my social responsibility as a journalist.
- Reporter: What difficulties did you encounter while writing this series?
NB Thanh Nga: The challenge comes from the rapid changes and sensitivity of the topic. Journalism, like any other profession, requires dedication and responsibility. With this series of articles, the first difficulty is that the issue is too new, too "hot" and often has adjustments from the Central Government. Therefore, I had to edit the article outline many times and continuously update new documents. Besides, collecting information and approaching the characters also encountered obstacles because this is a sensitive issue, affecting the work and life of many people. However, with perseverance, listening and sharing thoroughly, I gradually built trust to collect multi-dimensional information, reflecting the true nature of the matter.

- Reporter: For you, what does this award mean in your career journey?
NB Thanh Nga: This is an unforgettable mark, not only a recognition for the series of articles but also a motivation for me to continue to contribute. Moreover, the time of receiving the award is very special - the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and just a few days before Long An and Tay Ninh merged, opening a new path for the press in this land. I am very honored to accompany and mark that historic moment with my series of articles.
- Reporter: If you could send a message to young people just entering journalism, what would you share?
NB Thanh Nga: Young people have many advantages such as youth, acumen and especially understanding of technology - a powerful "assistant" in the digital age. I just want to say: Just live and work honestly, honestly and persistently. Don't be afraid to go to the grassroots, don't be afraid of difficulties. Journalism can be hard work but it will certainly not disappoint those who know how to keep the passion and ethics of the profession.
