Japan, South Korea resume high-level economic dialogue

Báo Sài Gòn Giải phóngBáo Sài Gòn Giải phóng04/12/2023

According to Yonhap News Agency, after nearly eight years of stagnation, Japan and South Korea agreed to hold high-level economic dialogue in Seoul at the end of December.

The resumption of bilateral consultations between Tokyo and Seoul is the latest in a series of moves to improve ties between the two countries following disputes over wartime forced labor.

Previously, Japan and South Korea signed a 3-year, $10 billion currency swap agreement to allow the two countries to access each other's money in times of emergency. The currency swap agreement is considered a tool to help countries cope with the risk of financial instability in a liquidity crisis.
