In the 2024-2025 school year, the Vinschool Education System will organize an entrance exam for all new students enrolling in the school. Each student can only participate in the exam once per semester.
To apply for high school, candidates must meet the conditions of having graduated from junior high school, having good conduct and good academic performance in all years of junior high school, high school, and in semester I if students register for semester II.
Students who are foreigners living in Vietnam, or Vietnamese living abroad will be considered on a case-by-case basis and comply with the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of the provinces and cities where the students register for admission.

High school students will take exams in the following subjects: Math, Vietnamese/Literature, English, Logical Thinking (with Vinschool standard system). Math, Vietnamese/Literature, English (according to the Advanced system's entry requirements), Logical Thinking (with the Advanced system).
In addition, candidates must take the Science and Math tests in English (not the Math test in Vietnamese). Students entering grade 11 take the English, Math and Science tests in English.
Students applying for other classes can choose to take the Math test in English or Vietnamese. After that, students will participate in a direct interview with the teacher.
The school enrolls students in two phases: Admissions at the beginning of the school year (from January to August every year, students officially start school from August). Admissions at the beginning of the second semester (from November to December every year, students officially start school from January).
Archimedes School (Hanoi) organizes 3 methods of admission to grade 10 including: Direct admission and scholarship; entrance exam; admission based on the results of the entrance exam to grade 10 of Hanoi Department of Education and Training (if there are still quotas).
Specifically, in the entrance exam method, the school waives the exam fee. Candidates will take the exam on March 10 with 3 subjects: Math, English, Literature, in which Math and English are multiplied by a factor of 2. Candidates in the top 5 students with the highest scores in the exam will receive a scholarship of up to 5 million VND.
Nguyen Sieu School enrolls a total of 207 students (of which 70% are 10th grade IGCSE students in the 2nd year - only 30% are recruited for 10AE class). The school organizes 2 admission methods: admission review and entrance capacity assessment test.
In the assessment test method, candidates must take exams in Math, Literature and English (equivalent to CambridgePET level according to the European reference framework).
In addition, the results of the 10th grade entrance exam will be considered, in combination with the English proficiency test organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (if there are still vacancies).
For the Vietnam - Australia Hanoi Inter-level School System , 10th grade enrollment is with 2 Cambridge International programs and special education program (SEP). The total quota is 102 students. The school accepts applications until June 30 or when the quota is full. To be admitted directly, candidates must ensure 5 criteria including:
- Achieved the title of Excellent Student for 4 years of junior high school or had an average score of 8.0 or higher in the 10th grade entrance exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, and achieved an overall score of 8.5 or higher in English in the most recent semester.
- Have one of the following international English certificates: PET certificate with a score of 153 or higher/ IELTS certificate with a score of 5.5 or higher/ TOEFL IBT certificate with a score of 65 or higher or TOEFL Junior with a score of 850 or higher, and at the same time have a good academic record and good conduct in the most recent semester.
- Won the City's Excellent Student Award or equivalent in grade 9 in the subjects: Math, Literature, English.
- Participated and passed the entrance exam to specialized high schools in Hanoi, with an average English score of 8.0 or higher in the most recent semester.
- Won first, second, and third prizes for excellent students in Math, Literature, and English at district level in grade 9 and had an average English score of 8.0 or higher in the most recent semester.
The school also noted that students who meet the direct admission criteria after entering the school still have to take the placement test as usual.
If not eligible for direct admission, students need to take an English proficiency test and an English interview by a foreign teacher.
Students from other provinces also apply the same criteria. However, they need to take additional exams in Math and Literature.
