Bringing digital skills to everyone

Deploying the 30-day peak campaign to open "Digital Literacy" classes to each residential area, remote area, and ethnic minority area, Quang Ninh youth established 53 shock teams with 1,850 union members and youths participating.

At the administrative centers of communes, wards, and special zones, every day, the youth union members and youths are present early to directly support people in carrying out administrative procedures online, registering for VNeID accounts, verifying chip-embedded citizen identification cards, and submitting documents on the National Public Service Portal. They guide people in filling out documents, filling out forms, and explaining administrative procedures in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.

After 1 month of launching, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in Quang Ninh have organized 175 "Digital Literacy" classes and 260 activities to popularize digital skills. More than 10,250 people and teenagers have been supported to use VNeID, electronic identification, access national public services, access AI application skills, and avoid risks when transacting online.

In particular, in the mountainous communes of Quang Ninh province such as Luc Hon, Binh Lieu, Tien Yen or remote villages, ethnic minorities and the elderly for the first time personally submitted documents online, looked up land information, and received medical treatment without paperwork...

"Nucleus" of digital transformation at the grassroots level

The leader of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union said that today's "digital classes" are similar to the spirit of popular education in the past, but are implemented using technology, spreading to residential areas, villages and even cyberspace. The core force is union members, youth volunteers, equipped with knowledge and skills, directly "holding hands and showing work" to people, especially the elderly and those with little access to technology.

Along with instructions on how to use smartphones, VNeID, online public services and safe transaction skills, the Youth Union branches also promote the Zalo Mini App "Quang Ninh Digital Youth". This is a platform to help union members and people quickly access online public services, the "Digital Education for the People" handbook, youth news, send comments and contributions... Union members and youths implement the motto "go to every alley, knock on every door", "1 on 1", to guide small traders, students, university students and the elderly.

Narrowing the digital divide, promoting development

The "Digital Literacy for All" movement not only helps people master technology, but also narrows the digital gap between target groups, contributing to promoting comprehensive digital transformation in Quang Ninh. From these classes, people know how to look up information, use public services, connect with relatives, and at the same time raise their awareness of security when transacting online.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (70 years old, Ha Long Ward) shared: "Thanks to the enthusiastic guidance of young people, I can now video call my children and grandchildren, and submit health insurance applications online. I feel more proactive and confident."

The "Digital Education for All" Youth Volunteer Team model gathers Youth Union officials and members who are knowledgeable about technology, and directly go to each house to guide the elderly and people in remote areas to use smartphones, the internet and essential applications.

This activity not only helps people access technology, but also improves digital capacity, narrows the digital gap and increases equality in access to information and public services. Each union member becomes a persistent and responsible "technology instigator", turning the movement into a beautiful symbol of digital transformation for the entire population, comprehensively and inclusively.
