Unity - the key to success
Hai Duong has long been known as a fertile agricultural land with hard-working farmers. Many farmers have proactively joined together to form cooperatives and cooperative groups to develop together. This consensus and joint efforts have helped everyone overcome difficulties, improve production efficiency and expand the market for agricultural products.
One of the typical models is Tan Minh Duc Cooperative in Pham Tran Commune (Gia Loc). Mr. Hoang Anh Thu, Deputy Director of Tan Minh Duc Cooperative, said that this solidarity was most clearly demonstrated when storm No. 3 made landfall in early September 2024, causing serious damage with losses of up to 180 billion VND. However, thanks to the joint efforts of the members, within just 3 months, the entire greenhouse area was rebuilt and production activities resumed normally.
During the difficult times, members supported each other without counting the effort. Some contributed dozens of days of work to clean the greenhouse, others were willing to lend each other hundreds of millions of dong without interest.
Not only supporting each other in production, Thanh Nhan Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative in Vu Xa village, Thuong Quan commune (Kinh Mon) also consumes cassava products of its members to make flour. Due to the impact of storm No. 3, cassava output this year is less than previous years, at times not enough for production. However, the members have discussed and purchased fresh tubers from many other provinces and cities to produce flour to serve the market. Mr. Bui Van Thanh, Director of this cooperative, said that the members are all experienced producers, so whenever there are difficulties, they work together to find a quick solution.

Not only in the field of cultivation, the spirit of mutual support is also clearly shown in the farmers exploiting the earthworms in Vinh Cuong commune (Thanh Ha). With nearly 60 hectares of earthworm exploitation area, people here regularly share experiences to improve harvesting efficiency. If in the past, one household harvested tons of earthworms while the next household got very little, now thanks to learning from each other about how to improve the living environment for the earthworms, every household has a bumper crop. They together study the time to improve the soil and treat the water environment to ensure the best growth of the earthworms. In particular, when selling earthworms, people commit not to lower the common price, ensuring profits for households. Therefore, the exploitation of earthworms is increasingly effective, no one loses the crop.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Bach in Thuan My village, Vinh Cuong commune currently has 8 hectares of earthworm exploitation, earning from 800 million to 1 billion VND per year. Mr. Bach said: "Those who know good techniques will pass them on to others so that they can cultivate more effectively. Without cooperation, farming will be difficult to succeed. The power of solidarity helps our lives gradually improve."
The cooperative models among Hai Duong farmers are proving that solidarity not only helps overcome difficulties but is also the foundation for sustainable agricultural development.
Increase the value of agricultural products

From practical experience, Mr. Pham Gia Vu, Director of the Agricultural Service Cooperative of Le Loi Commune (Gia Loc) said that when cooperating with each other, people not only create higher quality products but also invest in packaging, collective brands, processing, packaging products... to increase the value of agricultural products.
Developed from the Chi Linh Honey Bee Cooperative, the Viet Y Honey Bee Joint Stock Company (Chi Linh) has promoted the spirit of solidarity, overcome many difficulties to bring its products to a firm position in the market. Each member of the enterprise is assigned to be in charge of a field, from production to consumption, brand building... Up to now, the company has more than 2,000 bee colonies. 3 products of the enterprise have met the 3-star OCOP standard including: honey, royal jelly, special beeswax nests. In addition to domestic consumption, the company has cooperated with many specialized export enterprises to bring products to markets in Germany, the US... The members of the enterprise are all farmers with a passion for the profession and determined to realize the aspiration to improve agricultural products.
Over the years, local authorities have played an important role in leading, directing, and supporting farmers in promoting trade, finding new markets, and promoting the branding of agricultural products. Thanks to the harmonious coordination between the government and farmers, Hai Duong agricultural product brands are increasingly widely known, contributing to increasing income.
Whether facing natural disasters or market fluctuations, solidarity and the will to rise up are always the decisive factors for the success of Hai Duong farmers.
According to the Hai Duong Province Cooperative Union, the province currently has 530 cooperatives, 800 cooperative groups, and 155 value chains with the participation of enterprises. The value chain linkage model between cooperatives, enterprises, and international cooperation brings high economic efficiency, creates quality products, and expands the consumption market.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Chairwoman of the Hai Duong Province Cooperative Union, in the coming time, the unit will focus on building cooperative models applying high technology and digital technology associated with processing and consumption according to the value chain, improving quality, efficiency, competitiveness and proactively integrating internationally.
