Lao Cai farmers earn hundreds of billions of dong from growing pineapples

Currently, Lao Cai province has more than 2,200 hectares of pineapple growing area, concentrated in Muong Khuong and Bao Thang districts... Up to now, local farmers have harvested more than 39,800 tons of fruit, with a total value of more than 258 billion VND.

According to assessment, this year fresh pineapple consumption is favorable, selling price fluctuates 7,000 - 8,000 VND/kg.

About 1/3 of pineapple output is purchased by Asia Food Joint Stock Company (in Lung Vai commune, Muong Khuong district). The rest is purchased by Thinh Phong Cooperative and small traders, and sold to factories in Bac Giang , Ninh Binh, Hung Yen...

In 2024, according to the plan, the whole province will plant 60 hectares of new pineapple in Muong Khuong district. And up to now, farmers have planted more than 20 hectares.
