Warmly welcome Russian guests flying directly to Nha Trang

(NLDO) - On the afternoon of March 17, the first direct flight bringing Russian tourists back to Nha Trang was warmly welcomed by the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province.

Accordingly, at about 14:30, flight number ZF2577 of Azu Air LLC from Irkutsk (Russia) landed at Cam Ranh International Airport - Khanh Hoa .

This is a charter flight with a capacity of 231 passengers flying directly from Russia to Khanh Hoa after many years of interruption.

When landing at the airport, the plane performed a water-spraying ceremony to create a welcome gate, gave souvenirs to the first passengers to land on the landing field, and performed a unique lion dance with typical Vietnamese cultural features.

To impress Russian tourists returning to Khanh Hoa, and to demonstrate the hospitality and friendliness of Khanh Hoa people, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism were present at the foot of the plane to welcome them.

Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited, the travel agency, said that the charter routes this time will connect 11 Russian cities to Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa Province. These include Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Kabarovsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Krasnojarsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, Blagoveschensk with an expected flight frequency of about 12 flights/month in March 2025.

From April to June 2025, the number will increase to 50 - 55 trips/month and from July 2025 to 90 - 100 trips/month. Russian tourists stay for 5 nights or more, mainly in 3-5 star hotels and travel on package tours to famous tourist attractions in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

The number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa in the coming time is expected to increase sharply.

Previously, in early March, Khanh Hoa province also organized a delegation to promote tourism in the Russian market.

In 2019, it is estimated that nearly 463,000 Russian tourists visited Khanh Hoa province, accounting for 71.6% of the total number of Russian visitors to Vietnam and being the second largest international tourist market of the province at that time.

However, under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical instability, the number of tourists from Russia to Khanh Hoa has decreased sharply.

Direct flights from Russia have been suspended since 2022.
