On September 7, 2025, in Moc Chau, Son La, a press conference was held to announce the Miss Vietnam Ethnic Tourism 2025 contest. The contest was approved by the People's Committee of Son La province according to official dispatch No. 5050/UBND-KGVX signed on September 5, 2025.

Miss Ethnic Tourism Vietnam 2025 is a journey to honor the beauty, intelligence and bravery of Vietnamese women, while promoting the cultural values, tourism and identity of 54 ethnic groups to international friends.

Miss Ethnic Tourism Vietnam 2025 was held for the first time with the mission of honoring the beauty of women from 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam in a blend of tradition and modernity. This is not only a beauty contest but also a journey to spread cultural pride, national solidarity and the desire for integration of the young generation.

The Organizing Committee affirmed that the contest will not only find a new beauty queen but also select “cultural and tourism ambassadors” who possess intelligence, courage, compassion, and the ability to positively inspire the community. Through the rounds, the image of Vietnam will be comprehensively portrayed: natural scenery, cultural identity, friendly people and economic and tourism potential, especially in the Northwest region.

The message throughout the contest is that the beauty of Vietnam is the beauty of 54 ethnic groups and the pride of Vietnam is the eternal cultural value nurtured through many generations. Each contestant is a flower representing a distinct cultural color that blends together to create a brilliant, unified picture of the nation.

Regarding the reason for choosing People's Artist Lan Huong as the Head of the contest's Jury, Head of the Organizing Committee Dam Huong Thuy said: "People's Artist Lan Huong is a famous and prestigious artist, everyone who meets her admires and respects her. In particular, she represents the traditional beauty of Hanoi women in particular and Vietnamese women in general.

The highlight of the Miss Ethnic Tourism Vietnam 2025 contest is the journey to find the crowned face organized in the form of a reality TV show. After the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee will select 30 contestants to enter the "Common House" and participate in 4 reality TV episodes filmed in Moc Chau - a land with a strong national cultural identity.

During this time, the contestants will live, experience and demonstrate their abilities through many different situations, and participate in activities to explore, exchange culture and life with the local people. In particular, each contestant will undertake a charity project and be responsible for presenting the meaning of the project and directly implementing it. Through this, the contestants will not only reveal their own abilities and personalities but also understand and honor the cultural values and beauty of the people of the Vietnamese ethnic groups.

The organizers said that applying the reality TV format will clearly highlight the criteria, goals and values that the contest aims for.
