Personally, I know my own abilities, I know I have not expressed myself in this film. As a marketing student, what chance brought you to the female lead role in a historical film? - I am a newcomer so I encountered many difficulties, but luckily I was supported and helped a lot by my seniors in the crew. Previously, I studied at the Central University of Art Education. I knew the seniors there and was introduced to projects, so I knew to go to the casting. I had to audition twice to be selected. At first, the film crew only recruited supporting roles. I auditioned and was noticed by the director. After that, I auditioned many times and was selected. The climax of the film brought many tears to the audience. Was that scene difficult for you when you first entered acting? - I had to re-enact the scene of holding a three-legged bomb many times. Uncle Son helped me stay mentally strong and supported me a lot in that scene. He spoke so that I could understand the emotions and thoughts in that chaotic situation. From being cast for a supporting role, but being chosen for the main role, did Thuy Linh make a bold and daring decision? - From the beginning, I also told Mr. Son that I was afraid I couldn't do it, because I didn't have any experience. He encouraged me to be confident. When I entered the filming set, the actors all helped me. When I watched it again, I saw that I had developed and matured more than before. As an amateur actor, without any formal training, I am grateful for having everyone accompany me. When I was accepted, I had many difficulties in learning knowledge. I was happy but also worried when I had this experience for the first time. In the film, Thuy Linh has a hot scene with Doan Quoc Dam. How did you overcome this challenge? - Director Phi Tien Son helped me a lot in this scene. At first, I was shy because I had no experience, but when I entered the scene, Mr. Dam supported me a lot, helping me to be more confident to complete that scene. My first role was noticed, does Thuy Linh consider this a stepping stone to start an acting career? - Currently, I am still not sure what I will do next. I will still prioritize studying at school. As for whether I will pursue an acting career or not, I cannot reveal yet. Looking back on the journey with "Dao, Pho and Piano", is there anything memorable for Thuy Linh? - I filmed for about 45 days, with the help of director Phi Tien Son, Mr. Tran Luc, and Mr. Trung Hieu. Because it was my first role, everything was new, difficult, and confusing for me. I remember the days of practicing the piano and going to the set. Before filming, the film crew came to my house to talk to my parents. After that, my parents trusted me and happily supported me in filming.
