Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen was appointed as Director of Social Insurance Region I (Hanoi)

The report of Social Insurance Region I ( Hanoi ) shows that in 2024, the number of people participating in compulsory social insurance will be 2,167,328 people, an increase of 109,630 people (an increase of 5.33%) compared to 2023; accounting for 46.34% of the working-age labor force.

The number of people participating in voluntary social insurance (excluding cases being reserved) is 104,107 people, an increase of 21,924 people (an increase of 26.68%) compared to 2023; reaching 109.30% of the Vietnam Social Security Plan; accounting for 2.93% of the working-age workforce.

Number of people participating in health insurance (excluding cases with cards expired for less than 3 months): 8,166,554 people, an increase of 224,360 people (up 2.82%) compared to 2023; health insurance coverage rate reaches 95.9% of the population.

The number of people participating in unemployment insurance is 2,099,253 people, an increase of 109,026 people (up 5.48%) compared to 2023; accounting for 44.9% of the working-age workforce.

The City Social Insurance has well managed health insurance funds to ensure safety and efficiency, and paid medical examination and treatment costs fully and promptly for more than 13 million patients, with an amount of over 25 trillion VND/year.

In addition, in 2024, the number of domestic medical examination and treatment expenses in Hanoi will be 49.5%, while the number of out-of-province medical examination and treatment expenses will be 50.5%... Therefore, the requirement for the appraisal work is to optimize the use of the health insurance fund and the staff doing the health insurance appraisal work has closely coordinated with the Department of Health and medical examination and treatment facilities to fulfill this requirement well.

In addition, health insurance appraisal officers have joined with the health insurance sector to have a common voice requesting the State to review, amend, supplement, and develop mechanisms and policies on health insurance, including the amended Law on Health Insurance, the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, the Law on Pharmacy... in accordance with international practices and standards.
