OpenAI Announces O3 Inference AI Model

OpenAI - an artificial intelligence (AI) startup backed by Microsoft (USA) announced on December 20 that it is testing new AI reasoning models called "o3" and "o3 mini".

The move marks a major step forward for OpenAI in its race with rivals like Google to develop smarter AI models capable of solving more complex problems, according to Reuters.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman plans to launch an “o3 mini” version by the end of January 2025, followed by the full “o3” version. The company hopes these new AI models will outperform existing products, helping to attract more investment and new customers. The o3 models are undergoing internal safety testing. OpenAI is also inviting outside researchers to participate in testing before the official release.

With the expected launch of the o3 model, OpenAI continues to consolidate its position as one of the pioneers in the field of AI, while posing a big challenge to its competitors.
