On August 17, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced the resolution of the school council on appointing Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan as Vice Principal in charge of professional matters.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health, hoped that with the prestige, capacity and experience of the new Vice President, he would successfully complete the assigned tasks, promote the good traditional values and together build the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City to develop more and more, affirming the position of the University in training, scientific research and serving the community.
In her acceptance speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan shared that this is an honor but at the same time a great responsibility. With her professional experience and working capacity, Ms. Lan promised to continue to unite and be creative with the school community to inherit and develop the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City in the future.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Diep Tuan, Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, decided to appoint Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan
Before being appointed as Vice Principal, Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan was concurrently holding management positions at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy such as Head of Faculty of Medicine, Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology - Faculty of Medicine.
In addition, Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan is currently the editor-in-chief of Ho Chi Minh City Medical Journal, a member of the editorial board of Fertility and Reproduction magazine (the official magazine of ASPIRE), and a member of the World Health Organization's editorial team on guidelines for approaching infertile couples.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan is the author and co-author of over 80 research topics and scientific articles published in domestic and international specialized journals (including New England Journal of Medicine, Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility, Reproductive BioMedicine Online, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, BMJ, Frontiers in Endocrinology ...).
With the appointment of Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan as Vice Principal, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has 4 Vice Principals but still lacks a Principal since Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Diep Tuan became Chairman of the University Council in July 2020.
