Discovering "natural wonders" in the highlands of Quang Nam

Recently, when the Nuoc Che Hydropower Project (Phuoc Nang Commune, Phuoc Son District, Quang Nam ) was implemented, it revealed a rock mass with a very unique shape.

The above rock mountain is located about 2 km from Ho Chi Minh road, more than 10 km southwest of Kham Duc town of Phuoc Son district.

According to local people, the rocky mountain range used to be hidden in the ground, only a little exposed but hidden by trees. In 2018, the Nuoc Che hydropower project was implemented, the road opened to lead water from the main dam to the turbine, revealing the cliff with many stone pillars with extremely interesting shapes.

According to observations, the rocky mountain is nearly 500 m long, below is the Dak Che stream with clear blue water, above is the forest covering. Each stone pillar is nearly 5 m high, lined up next to each other along the road. The stone pillars are column-shaped, arranged vertically, the cross-section of the stone pillars, stone pillars have a quadrilateral, hexagonal or circular cross-section, all in a neat row.

Some geologists believe that this rocky mountain range may be millions of years old. Through the process of weathering and erosion, the sedimentary rocks have created strangely shaped stone columns. Particularly impressive is the regular arrangement of the stone columns, creating a majestic and harmonious beauty.

Mr. Ho Van Khu, Chairman of Phuoc Nang Commune, said that because the mountain was newly discovered, not many people know about it, but occasionally some local people come to visit and bathe in the stream.

With its unique and wild beauty, this rocky mountain range promises to become an attractive destination for tourists who love exploring nature.
