Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army inspected and visited the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 to wish a happy new year.

On January 24, a delegation of the Ministry of National Defense led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, inspected combat readiness and extended New Year greetings to the Command of Coast Guard Region 3.

Reporting to the working delegation on combat readiness and preparation for the Spring Festival and Tet, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the directive of the Ministry of National Defense on combat readiness and organization of the Lunar New Year 2024 to all officers and soldiers. The entire unit strictly maintained the combat readiness system, deployed ships on duty for Tet at sea; organized working delegations to inspect combat readiness; resolutely and effectively carried out the peak period of fighting against crimes, violations, smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024; prevented illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (IUU); strictly implemented safety and explosion prevention work; ensured good weapons and technical equipment for forces and vehicles performing tasks; performed well the management and ideological orientation for soldiers; Implement spring and New Year activities in the spirit of "Happy, healthy, safe, economical, high combat readiness"; organize New Year greetings for Party committees, authorities, localities, and armed forces stationed in the area and do a good job of gratitude, meeting and giving gifts to policy families on the occasion of Lunar New Year; ensure publicity, completeness, and timeliness of Tet regimes and standards for soldiers, especially forces and vehicles on duty during Tet.

The working delegation visited and presented gifts to ship KN211, which is on duty to prevent and combat IUU fishing in the waters bordering Vietnam and Thailand.

In his concluding remarks at the working session, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity, proactively overcoming difficulties and the achievements of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command in the past time. The Deputy Chief of Political Affairs also requested the Party Committee and the Coast Guard Region 3 Command to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement directives and resolutions at all levels on combat readiness and organize the 2024 Lunar New Year; carry out well the ideological orientation work for officers and soldiers; strictly maintain the combat readiness duty regime and the situation reporting system; closely coordinate with forces to grasp the situation at sea and the stationed areas to avoid being passive and surprised in any situation; well implement plans to ensure absolute safety for people, weapons and technical equipment; pay attention to taking care of the material and spiritual life and the rear of the families of officers and soldiers, especially those families in particularly difficult circumstances; Prepare carefully, ensure adequate material and spiritual conditions for officers and soldiers to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet.
