Vice President of the Lao National Assembly: Vietnam's 80-year achievements are a source of encouragement for the Lao people

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, Mr. Sommad Pholsena, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee, sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Uong Chu Luu, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Vietnam Peace and Solidarity Committee. In the message, he affirmed that the achievements of the Vietnamese people are a great source of encouragement for Laos and expressed his belief that the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos will last forever.

In the letter, Mr. Sommad Pholsena expressed his joy at realizing that over the past 80 years, the Vietnamese people have achieved many great and historic achievements. Most notably, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Vietnamese people fought against the invaders, won and completed the country's reunification in 1976. After that, the Party directed the implementation of the Renovation process, bringing the country to strong political development, economic development and expansion, scientific and technological progress, and cultural modernization.

The Vice President of the Lao National Assembly emphasized that in the new period, the Communist Party of Vietnam continues to lead the people to successfully carry out the mission of protecting and developing the country, creating political stability, social order, rapid economic growth, consolidating national defense and security, expanding foreign relations, enhancing the position in the regional and international arena, and constantly improving people's lives. "The achievements of the Vietnamese people have become a great encouragement and human resource for our Lao People's Democratic Republic," he wrote, sending his wishes to the Vietnamese people to continue to reap more achievements.

Mr. Sommad Pholsena expressed his pride and honor that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries have been increasingly preserved, consolidated, deepened and borne fruit. In recent times, senior leaders of the two Parties, the two States, sectors and levels from the central to local levels have had many visits and effective cooperation, making important contributions to the cause of construction and development of each country, bringing practical benefits to the people of Laos and Vietnam.

He emphasized that 2025 is of great significance to both countries, as they celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day, the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 48th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation. The two sides have been closely coordinating to prepare for the commemorative activities in each country, supporting each other to ensure the success of the event.

On this occasion, the Vice President of the Lao National Assembly expressed his deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their valuable, timely and effective assistance to the Lao people in the struggle for national liberation as well as in the current construction and development process. He affirmed that he will continue to do his utmost to promote close cooperation between the two Peace Committees, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

Mr. Sommad Pholsena sent his best wishes to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Peace Committee and all Vietnamese people for good health, happiness and success; and wished that the Laos-Vietnam relationship would always be strong and everlasting.
