According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the landslide location of Ia Sol river bank is about 300m long, 20m wide, the landslide area belongs to route D72. The river bank landslide has caused the loss of farmland of households, affecting the 110kV high voltage power line running across. The landslide area is tending to continue to collapse, affecting the high voltage power pole about 20m from the landslide location and the travel of households in the area. Previously, the project of the East bank of Ia Sol River anti-erosion embankment phase 1 was invested in 900m (450m has been completed and the remaining 450m has not been done). The landslide section is within this unimplemented area. Currently, the construction unit no longer has the capacity to carry out the above project.

To stabilize the riverbank, ensure the safety of the power grid and people's production land, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct the People's Committee of Phu Thien commune to put up warning signs to inform people and have temporary solutions. Review and propose a plan with an appropriate total investment to completely handle the landslide location, ensuring long-term stability and convenience for people to travel.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep (left) inspected the combined overflow road from village 1 to village Mo Nang 2, Ia Pa commune.

Regarding the spillway connecting village 1 to Mo Nang 2 village, the project was invested in and built by the People's Committee of Ia Pa district (formerly) in 2009. This project connects traffic from the center of Ia Pa commune, Truong Son Dong road to the residential area of Mo Nang 2 village and the production areas in the East of Ia Pa commune. From July 2025 to now, the spillway has been damaged by floods twice, causing traffic disruption, specifically: Due to the impact of storm No. 4 in July 2025, the commune had prolonged heavy rain and floods over the road surface, causing damage to the above spillway, isolating more than 614 households with about 2,500 people, and traffic was disrupted. Immediately after the water receded, the People's Committee of the commune carried out repairs. From August 28 to August 29, 2025, there was heavy rain in the commune, the same situation continued to occur, the height of flood water over the spillway was more than 2m. Immediately after the water receded, the People's Committee of the commune mobilized resources to repair, add more gravel to the roadbed and fill the collapsed underground road section to ensure traffic for people to travel.

More seriously, from September 6, 2025 to now, in Ia Pa commune, there has been heavy rain, flooding, traffic disruption, the height of floodwaters over the spillway is high, causing people in Mo Nang 2 village to continue to be isolated. Currently, in the western part of Gia Lai province, it is the peak of the rainy season, expected to last until the end of December 2025; heavy rains combined with the impact of flood discharge from hydropower projects along the Ba River will cause flooding, affecting the projects, causing traffic disruption. Investment in synchronous upgrading of the spillway is urgent to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, serve traffic and production, and develop the local socio -economy.

Regarding the immediate solution, it is necessary to reinforce and limit the flow that directly affects the upstream of the eroded spillway, and repair the spillway to ensure smooth traffic with a total estimated investment of about 950 million VND. However, in the long term, it is necessary to invest in building works on the scale of a grade IV mountain road with a total estimated investment of about 54 billion VND.

The spillway on provincial road 666 to Bi Giong village, Po To commune, during the rainy season, the combined culvert of this spillway is often cut off due to the small drainage culvert so the water cannot drain quickly, leading to deep flooding of the spillway, completely cutting off the two villages of Bi Giong and Bi Gia of Po To commune. Through inspection, it shows that the current state of the road surface structure, slope reinforcement, and culvert are still in good condition, with no damage or erosion.

Through checking the actual situation and reports of departments, branches and localities, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep requested localities to continue to carry out disaster prevention and control work according to the motto "3 readiness" (proactive prevention; timely response; urgent and effective recovery) and "4 on-site" (on-site command; on-site forces; on-site means and materials; on-site logistics) in preventing, combating, overcoming consequences of natural disasters, and rescuing and saving victims during the rainy and stormy season.

Regarding the landslide on the East bank of the Ia Sol River, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committee of Phu Thien Commune to continue monitoring the landslide and handle it appropriately and economically. At the same time, coordinate with relevant departments to review and propose a plan with an appropriate total investment to completely handle the landslide, ensuring long-term stability and convenience for people to travel. Assign the Department of Agriculture and Environment to advise on the Decision to declare an emergency situation at the landslide on the East bank of the Ia Sol River. The Department of Finance reports to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision on the allocation of capital to promptly overcome the landslide situation at this location.

Regarding the project of the combined overflow road from village 1 to Mo Nang 2 village, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the locality to urgently install warning signs, put up ropes and arrange forces to be on duty, not allowing people to pass through to ensure safety./.
