Thang Binh women spread the spirit of entrepreneurship

The implementation of the Project "Supporting women to start a business in the period 2017 - 2025" has contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of women members in Thang Binh district.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Nguyet - Vice President of the Women's Union of Thang Binh district said that during the implementation of Project 939, female members are regularly propagandized and supported to participate in start-up projects, business development, legal support, brand building...

Project 939 has been implemented by all levels of the association since 2017. Up to now, the Women's Union of Thang Binh district has organized 5 training courses on entrepreneurship for more than 260 women who have had and are having ideas for entrepreneurship. Every year, the contest "Creative ideas for entrepreneurship among women" is launched, the forum "Thang Binh women aspire to start a business - Promoting local resources" is organized, the festival "Women start a business and green transformation", the festival "Thang Binh women in the new era" is organized and women's entrepreneurship products are displayed.

The competitions attracted more than 150 ideas, of which 57 won district-level prizes, 10 competed at the provincial level, and 1 idea participated in the "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Competition in the Central region in 2024 and won an encouragement prize. The District Women's Union has supported the establishment of 10 cooperatives, 2 cooperative groups, many establishments achieving 3-star and 4-star OCOP and developing stably in the market.

For about 3 years now, Ms. Phan Thi Hien (Nam Ha village, Binh Duong commune) has been making cakes and candies with jelly using natural colors without using colorants or preservatives. The products are sold to customers in the commune, neighboring communes of Thang Binh district, Hoi An, Da Nang...

On average, about 5-6kg of gummy candies and jelly products are sold to the market every day at a price of 160,000 VND/kg. This creates a foundation for stable family economic development.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Nguyet said that, along with the support sources from the district and province's industrial promotion funds, the district's associations have secured credit with the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to help more than 6,229 households access loans with outstanding loans of 361.7 billion VND to date and the capital to support women's economic development of the Provincial Women's Union with outstanding loans of 1.3 billion VND. Thereby, 130 women have been given loans for production, business and trading; coordinated to open vocational training classes and introduce jobs for female workers with an income of 5 million VND/month or more.
