On the evening of March 3, the opening ceremony of the 9th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2023 with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai" took place at Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1). After 8 times of organization, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival has become a typical annual cultural tourism event of the city.

The opening ceremony of this year's Ao Dai Festival was invested in on a large scale and innovated in content.

Attending the opening ceremony were former Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le and representatives of diplomatic agencies.

In his opening speech, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that not only does the ao dai symbolize the beauty of the Vietnamese people, it also reminds of a beautiful, friendly, and peaceful Vietnam; it reminds international tourists of a destination rich in identity.
